The only people who I have heard negative things from on that video were out of towner's who don't know how crooked all of the dealings around here are, or only one person from Chicago who did not realize this was happening. Once that was explained to them they saw what I saw. I could give you a long explanation of Chicago politics. But this video applies to the politics here pretty much unchanged.

No, what is demeaning and subjugating is that in many places, women are required to cover up, sometimes to the point of absurdity (niqaab), and must be accompanied by a male relative just to go out, and cannot drive or have the same basic freedoms, whereas men are not burdened with these requirements. This discrimination is enforced by the state itself, or at least informally by overbearing male relatives.

Why any Western woman would defend such a medieval burden for women is beyond me, especially when there are examples of women suffering in the world on account of this lunacy:
