Nana Plaza has 4 LB exclusive bars and if for some odd reason you dont find what you like The Guess Bar is now only a 3 minute walk down Soi 4.The difference is Nana's bars are loud obnoxious places to be in,but they all have astage with anywhere from 40-120 LB's dancing on any given night,which allows one to sit back and make a wise choice as to what your spending your baht on.
Guess bar on the other hand is a more relaxed place,with a pool table,mellow house music played at a reasonable level,which I prefer.The drawback is its dimly lit,no stage to check the girls and more often then not you'll have the most desperate girl in the bar swinging from your cock within a nanosecond of entering the premises,telling you shes horny and loves you,and...oh by the way...buy me a drink.So unless you have no problem telling a LB to fuck off you'll end up stuck with the first girl and wont have a chance to see the few gems that Guess Bar actually has.
If you didn't tell me that DJ, I probably would have been a little too receptive to the first girl who approached me. Thanks for arming me with that bit of information. It always helps to know these things ahead of time rather than having to learn from mistakes.
Yeah mate for the newbie,especially if youre a vet of American TS clubs where the girls are divas and charge you a Franklin note just for the "priviledge" of sitting in their general area,Thailand is def a welcome change to that attitude.The girls here are (for the most part) sweet and very friendly,some even speak enough English to carry on a decent conversation.
Make no mistake though,no matter what they whisper in your ear,its still about the cash and these girls can spot a rookie in a heartbeat and will line up en masse in front of you in hopes that they will be the one you choose for the evening.The competition is fierce and like I said before many times you will get an uber aggresive girl that simply will not leave you alone unless you tell her flat out "GO AWAY"..or any variation thereof.
i have just read most of this thread, all 79 pages of it (i know, how long did that take?), and i agree with most of what is being said here about the bkk scene.
the only thing that i know of that can truly level the playing field here is a working knowledge of the Thai language, and politeness. if you can speak Thai, they know you know the drill/program. then it becomes a simple matter of negotiation and compliance. do not assume a thing, let them know what you are thinking.
after 20 years of this i have only been ripped off once, and that was a girl high on Xanax, or the like. i fell asleep, woke up and my cell phone was gone. i ran into the culprit 2 days later in a mall and when i questioned her she didn't even remember me, but she did remember when i mentioned the phone. she sold it that morning for a few hundred baht. she met me the next day to pay me back for it (only costs 4,000 baht anyways - old baht at 48/$) with a romp in the sack.
bad sex, sure that happens frequently, not all people are a match, and even if you are paying, no guarantees that you two will "bond". it's pay for play like most anywhere and some are good times and others, well - boring or limp.
some of the best i have ever had are freelancers on the street, BUT i do speak Thai and i can cut right through the crap 99.99% of the time.
i tend to go to bars only for meeting and collecting phone numbers. i only ask for a number if i have sat and talked to a girl for a few visits. i also only go to one bar now, Cascade in Nana Plaza. they have an insane harem of girls that all know me now, and know what i like and do not like. further, they know if i bitch to the mamasan she will give them a scolding (never in front of me, she acts like she doesn't care, but she does - i am the guy who paid for 5 girls for 4 days at 600 baht a pop at one time for a trip to koh samui, you do the math).
i ask them whatever i need to know such as:
- 1. do you take hormones (limp dick)?
2. are you top, bottom or versatile?
3. what do you expect to get paid?
4. how long is short time on your watch? (short time: you come, i go.)
5. if this works out, will you give me your number and let me call to meet you in the afternoon just before work? (good for me, good for them. they will still ask for $$ for the bar fine though. i tell them, i have paid you more than standard, so you go pay the bar - most agree.)
6. if i want another to join, who is the best buddy for that?
7. if its a go, and i want to take pictures after, i always ask before hand. (many do not like it, or do not want them posted on the web. they surf these sites, so do not piss them off, make unsubstantiated comments or accusations, and always be a gentleman, even if they are not a lady.)
again, this works with language skills, practice and familiarity. a lot of guys do not want familiarity but i live here, will die here, and i need to act according to that. once you go with someone here, and you live here, you do not want any backlash, ever. you never know where or when you will see them again. and mark my words, you will see them again. small country, small scene.
for someone who is a newbie this is what i suggest you do to test the waters and not be taken advantage of TOO MUCH:
after you sit down and get your drink and start to relax, pick a girl you like, buy her a drink under the condition that she keep the others at bay, and will not ask you to buy her "friend" a drink. explain to her that you will have more money to spend on her and her drinks and that you will tip her afterwards. this usually works. BUT DO NOT FORGET TO FOLLOW UP ON THE DEAL, buy her another if you stay, and tip her a few hundred when you are leaving.
i had to go to the US a few years ago for work. i was there for way too long. i had 5 encounters with girls from the web (Eros.com) 2 were www "super stars" and only 1 of the 5 was fun and endearing, Kelee from NY. all the rest were robotic money grabbers. one actually did not leave her house until i called her from the hotel and it took her an hour and a half to get there, and i only had 30 minutes left on the room. the room costs more than an entire night in Nana. and one, Yasmin Thai, had a hangover and diarrhea, not a fun time, but she insisted on the total 300 USD, and all manner of rules about what i could or could not do. what a rip off. the point is, none of this has ever happened to me in BKK.
if anyone needs bkk or patong beach info (i have not been to pattaya for a long time) feel free to ask. i may not know it all, i may not know everyone, but i do have 20 years in. so i can probably offer a little bit of what you want to know. but, like all things in life, seeing is believing, and testing the waters is fun. keep your head about you, be polite, if it looks or sounds bad, it probably is. know the going rates and if need be, just move on with little fanfare and no disrespect (that kind of behavior will brand you as a drag to be with - reasonable argument on your part, or not). there is so much available there is very little need to be with anyone who does not suit you or want to get along.
be safe, play safe (even if told you can pay bareback, which only happened once i am glad to say) and remember you are a guest in this country.
remember that although it all seems to be the status quo it is not mainstream after you have a problem. if anything bad happens, you are most certainly the loser. the authorities will not help you most of the time (actually they will charge you for "help"), so unless it's a real matter of a real crime that must not go unreported, take your licks, pay the duty and get on with your fun. above all, these girls are for the most part decent people like anyone else, not someone to be abused and used. the better each of us treats them (not the money thing either) the better it is for all concerned.
ps - i fly EVA deluxe coach to the US. it's a business class seat in coach for only a few dollars more. Thai has gone down hill sorry to say, they are expensive, and there are many other choices now.
also, hotels: book in for a few nights before you arrive, and then spend a day looking for a good, clean, cheap hotel that you book at the counter as a walk-in. always cheaper and you will not believe how much you can save. Note: if it is high season here in BKK, you may not want to gamble like that.
