Anyone who isn't an idiot can look around the last few pages of HA postings and find dozens of people saying things similar to what you have- in this thread, and many separate threads. And you know what? No one called them on out on it, or went on for 15 pages going back & forward about it.
The posters here need to realize that if they want to be taken credible, they need to be equally harsh to the same type of comments, REGARDLESS who posts them, or what threads they are posted in.
If they think it's wrong, GREAT- say so, just don't be asymmetrical about it. React just as often, just as harsh, and just as passionately whether the poster who says it is white, asian, male, female, black, or anything else for that matter. If you pick & chose who you respond to, or who you passionately respond to- it only makes you look like a hypocrite.
As to my opinion on all this, I'll reiterate some of the things I've said (already) on this forum in the past.
-You can't claim using statistics that blacks oppose gay marriage more than whites. The statics simply don't support that false assumption. Just look at the gay marriage bans of 2004, and you'll see your evidence. The CA 2008 proposition 8 was different, but in the world of statistics that's called A FLUKE. So why do so many people falsely blame blacks for gay marriage bans? It's a conservative fundamentalist tactic of divide & conquer. Get the liberals fighting each other, and its easier to fuck them over.
-I already I think thoroughly called into question this thread's earlier statistics involving prison populations, and student populations. I even dug up the census data that proves those figures are inaccurate. Using statistics that are blatantly incorrect does not get people to agree with you (I learned this earlier this year when I myself was misinformed into thinking that other nations have the same types of guns per capita statistics without the same gun related violence we have, I believe the threads showing I was wrong with those stats are somewhere in the politics section, if anyone is interested).
-Saying how many "black friends you have" does not mean you're a racist. But it doesn't mean you're not a racist either. It's simply not proof in either direction. That's kind of like a guy saying "Oh, I am not sexist because I date girls!" or "I know guy's don't beat their wives because I'm married!" (and I have some tropical ocean front property in canada for sale if you'll buy either of those arguments...).
-Saying one group is more "homophobic" or "transphobic" then the other? Well, there's plenty of blame to go around there. Why is it so many of the groups that start these gay ban initiatives are overwhelmingly WHITE? Why were so many of the stormtroopers lobbying in the streets for proposition8 white? The calculating social conservatives that are usually responsible for oppressive legislation tend to be white evangelicals, baptists, or Mormons (there being obvious exceptions). Where was all that money that was pumped into the Proposition8 initiative coming from? It was coming from Utah, the bible belt, and churches throughout the backwoods of the country. Not so much from inner cities. How many of the oppressive APA policymakers are black? Does anyone here actually know what Bailey, Blanchard, Zucker, or the other transphobic policymakers look like? Does anyone here know how many of those policymakers aren't even American? Anyone remember when HRC threw us under the bus (the 3 times they did so involving federal bills)? There's the whole issue of certain sects of GAYS, independent of race, being transphobic. There are a lot of groups that have shown what they'd "like to do to trans people." To simply say it's "all one" or "all the other" is incorrect, it's intellectually dishonest, and it's helping the people that would like to simply kill us.
And Blanchard is going after the guys here next. They're trying to change the DSM for DSM5 to label anyone who finds a trans person attractive mentally ill. They want to call this new "condition" Gynandromorphophilia. So sure, keep fighting amongst ourselves like there's nothing to worry about. It's only playing into THEIR HANDS. Y'all need to open your eyes, there are truly evil, calculating, organized, oppressive groups out there trying to hurt all of us.
