what exactly does removing the testicles do ?.. ive heard so much about it but wouldnt u lost functionality?.. i mean i know high hormone dosage after a long period of time does that but i never really understood the full extent of removing the testicles can someone fill me in ....
I think it would take some real balls to get your balls choped off!
The major benefit of orchiectomy (testicle removal) is reduced production of testosterone, and thus decreased dependence on HRT (which can thereby reduce the health risks associated with HRT). The major disadvantage is reduced scrotum which can be used by the surgeon performing SRS to construct a vagina; this depends upon how much time has passed between orchiectomy and SRS (or, more precisely, how much skrinkage of the scrotal tissue has resulted, which increases with time). Here's a page with a lot of info specifically for transsexuals thinking about orchiectomy as a preliminary step to SRS:Quote:

I've dated 4 t-girls (1 two year relationship; 3 casually) and all but one had undergone an orchiectomy. While none of them were capable of sustaining an erection capable of serious intercourse, all were able to "function" to some degree and have orgasms.
The girl I dated for two years, often described her ograsm as far different from the normal male orgasm, but very intense at the same time.
As far as enhancing the feminine appearance, it definitely helps. Many of you noted the effects of fat distribution, softening appearance and the possibilty for estrogen to work unhindered. Having an orchiectomy also causes an atrophic reaction in the genital area, leaving virtually nothing to tuck or hide, allowing the girl a more comfartable time.
In addition to he weight gain, girls have to be aware of possible fatigue and even hot flashes.
wow thanx guys for the info, i had taken it into concideration to look into it but i dunno its all still so new to me *hugs*
It probably is of little concern just now, you being all young and spry and gorgeous, but it is certain that orchiectomy, alone or as part of SRS, will make the aging process more manageable. There are SRS women out there in their fifties and sixties and they just look like glamorous older G-women.........Those li'l boys are going to make their presence felt sooner or later. Maintaining a long-term balance as an intact pre-op is pretty difficult because testosterone is so potent, and as Ec pointed out, long-term hormone therapy has consequences too. Guess it depends on your long-term self view but if you plan to transition fully or spend the rest of your life living as a woman, you ought to get the info you need now.Quote:

You would really need to consult an endocrinologist with experience in this field to get proper advice.
There is no question that the earlier you take steps to counter the effects of testosterone the more successful these steps will be. But you must get advice and plenty of it, and make the decision on what you want for your own future-- for Pete's sake not because of some guy!
