I agree with peggygee regarding the "quality vs quantity" debate.
Does anyone remember when we didn't have ranks?
Honestly does anybody really think i'm a CTE probably not and i can think of other guys who shouldn't even have that CTE title based on their post not saying all my post are deep i don't argue with people just to get my post count up or post non-stop threads about sample clips. If we are gonna really buy into that title system then it should reflect each individuality persona. But i do agree with you titles should be earned and not becuase of their post count.Quote:

It's a recording forum, and it starts with 'Audio School', then, in possibly inaccurate order, goes through 'buying gear', 'setting up mics', 'gimme a little kick and snare', 'gettin' sounds', 'rolling tape', 'ass engineer', all the way to 'moves faders with mind', 'steve albini likes it', 'george martin', 'deaf' and the like. All the members get a kick out of it, and it's actually kind of fun to have a roadmap.
To me, this could be an opportunity to introduce a little wit, while simultaneously being instructive. For the guys, things like 'noob', 'asking redundant questions', 'typing one handed', ' to, I don't know, maybe becoming smoother wif de ladies, you scenesters can think of some pithy remarks, all the way to humorous ones for the megaposters, like 'never sleeps'. For the ladies, humor about noob status might not fly...like 'buying waxing kit at the self checkout line', but again, maybe the angels could have some appropriate, knowledgeable and gently humorous thngs to say. Like a lot of my writing, this idea is kind of involved, but could be worked out rather quickly, it would be fun to do, and fun for the members.

Please think before you answer. You could very well end up writing your way into a job offer.

For other uses, see Peer review (disambiguation).
Peer review (known as refereeing in some academic
fields) is a process of subjecting an author's scholarly
work or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts
in the field. It is used primarily by editors to select and
to screen submitted manuscripts, and by funding agencies,
to decide the awarding of grants.
The peer review process aims to make authors meet the
standards of their discipline, and of science in general.
Publications and awards that have not undergone peer review
are likely to be regarded with suspicion by scholars and professionals
in many fields. Even refereed journals, however, can contain errors.
Of course we here at HA aren't talking about scholarly
contributions, but rather how has a member
contributed to the betterment of the forum, and the
transcommunity.
How about "Suspected Pic Collector" for those of us who post suspiciously low and infrequently enough yet have been members for a long time and know what's up?Quote:
