yes, you're right, the use of the " preference" word definitely did open the flood gates to this topic discussion.Quote:

this whole racist thing started when i use the word preference in my response to him....no one look at the fact that he said i deserve to be robbed....everyone needs to read the content carefully before attacking people
only thing, Yaz. a lot of times the term "preference" is often use by some to hide " personal agendas " rather than described an attraction.
Some people relate preference to being "excluded out" as if girls
definitely think of dating blacks at all.
and of course normally anyone who has been exposed and
affected by racial discrimination is likely
to have some resentment to being " excluded " out of the
picture based on how some people perceive black people. .
we've heard of girls having to "screen " and exclude
potential clients based on racial ethnicity
( and not their actions or character )
simply because they perceive a group of people
as a " threatening safety -risk." simply base a
judgment off of the color of their skin.
and Yaz, on one note, IMO and with all due respect, ..
.... a " 1st kiss" long time ago, or even being bi-racial
doesn't neccessary carry a lot of meaning as you may think,
since people can evolve into having different feelings as the
years past by.
which can go both ways.
some may grow to favoring dating men of difference races
far more than they ever did in the past.
.. and some can grow to REFUSE to date men
of difference races as time goes on
....... hell, there's even some bi-racial blacks that won't date blacks.
the reasons for it may actually vary as i've discovered.
Your personal feelings NOW and today is what probably
holds more water than what you felt and did a long time ago.
Because you're a big name and famous face and
fan admiration a thread discussion such as this is
obviously going draw more attention.
... but i think since you've made a clear explanation that
it depends upon the character and demeanor with you rather
than a skin color, that should be helpful in explaining things.
It's clear that there is still some confusion about
what is considered a preference vs a prejudice.
if i find ( "prefer" ) a thin woman more attractive and
appealing than overweight women,
....does this mean i am " prejudice " against overweight women ??
me per say, i would never say no ( " exclude ") to dating
an overweight woman and actually find a lot of fat women
with very pretty faces attractive
But i know what attracts/appeals to me MORE so.
since " preference " is obvious offensive or confusing
to many others, then the options maybe for people to either
use another term, ...don't bring it up in words at all .
... or get used to the word.
.
