Just got done watching Unthinkable. What a crazy movie.
I watched Kill Bill 1 and 2 back to back, not having seen them since their release. I wasn't a fan at the time, and watching them again, they are both great productions, and have the characteristic cross-references Tarantino is addicted to, in this case Spaghetti Westerns, Japanese comics, and some vague link to westerns. The fundamental problem is that I didn't care about Beatrix Kiddo and her revenge mission, I understand the satirical way in which Tarantino uses violence, but the films don't have the fizz and existential sparkle (?) of either Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction -both of which also have better scripts -the only films that Tarantino so far will be remembered for. I am not a fan of Uma Thurman but thats not important. Accomplished film-making to no purpose, I am going to give these 2 DVD's away and will not miss them.
The Way Back, it sucked
I just saw Paul on a plane. It was great! :)

"Win Win"...just a good little movie with an awesome cast.
"Sarah's Key", French film starring Kristin Scott-Thomas as an American journalist in Paris who turns up the shameful true story that when the Jews were rounded up in 1942, it was all conducted by the French authorities with little or no involvement from the Germans.
A lot of French films can rightly be criticised as pretentious and obscure, but this is an example of just how well they can do a mainstream film too. Very highly recommended.
Columbiana !! ...cool ass movie. i haven't seen a gal totally
whoop ass in a movie like that in quite awhile. :dancing:
Recently watched The Cranes are Flying - Made in post WW2 USSR. Fantastic movie.
Come and See is one of the most compelling films about war I have ever seen. I watched The Victors on BBC-2 yesterday afternoon and thought it was incoherent rubbish by comparison.
I watched Iron Man 2 last night. The first was let down by its hollywood Arabs-as-demons (again), but had a good script which is also true of this one. For some reason I like Robert Downey Jr even though he doesn't have a wide repertoire of abilities; it can't be taken seriously, and as always when these films decline, one Iron Man can't be beaten by a minor army of Iron Men, probably because they were built by a Russian (code=never could beat America). I can't see a third one coming along, the plot lines are getting, er...rusty? Scarlet Johansson looks good in a tight dress, as does many a transexual...
pirates of the carieban 3 - worlds end
Zombieland...Again! :shrug
