Way back when.......After school in the afternoon before Mom and Dad got home we'd utilize Pop's stereo....(he was big into jazz). It had the turntable, and amplifier with tubes, we also had a big reel to reel.
Technically the Digital Age can do a lot more with sound, but the musicians from the 60s knew how to get that hot sound from the old Marshall Amps, and we would turn that music up LOUD.
I can remember the first time I heard "I'm so Glad" with some friends and we all stopped and listened. It was great.
Cream - I'm So Glad - 1966 - YouTube
way back, way, way back when i was at school my pal's dad ran a pub in which bands would play in the evenings. One was a blues band. The guitarist was some guy called Clapton. I used to go to the pub after school and jam around with some friends - making a terrible racket - with the instruments left there. Including Mr Clapton's guitar.

That was a laugh riot, Prospero. "Still the One" by Orleans was actually a hit in the US in the late 70s. My favorite of the bunch: "Jesus Use Me."
Posting this for the video, not so much the song. It's pretty cool. I wonder if these guys curse the day they made the treadmill video, because ever since then, they have to keep trying to top themselves and come up with new concepts.
