Re: Cocktail&Dreams Phuket
I'd say its totally up to you, though i'd recommend grabbing a beer & taking in a bit of the atmosphere, you'll probably find it shields you from the going-ons outside

I'm not a bar scene/ big drinking guy at home and would never go to a bar and hang out. I'm fairly introverted. So especially as a first timer I don't think I would be comfortable sitting in a raucous bar for long.
Obviously the main draw isn't the booze. The photos in this thread are amazing.
How long is the minimum stay expected in a bar like this before barfining a girl without pissing anyone off ?

1 second or less if you choose one of the girls standing outside the bar. But the bar owners do like you to buy a drink or two first.

the thing with these bars- and the world is full of hooker bars- Go in, dont use eye contact, look around- dont be shy to turn someone away- politley- and dont let them bring a few friends- your bar bill will be as big as your 'excitement' ! take it easdy the girls have to eat but foreigners are seen as ATM's (not arse to mouths-/ ATM also meand cash point-apparently !!)

Well, since you aren't a drinker, just order what you'd normally drink. However, buy a few drinks for some ladies and you'll be welcome as long as you'd like to stay. Just be nice, respectful, yourself, and be a bit generous. Don't go over board, but you'll be very appreciated if you offer a drink or two. You're going to have a blast and it will change your life. The place will haunt you when you go back home. It's been three years since I was there, and I was thinking about Bangkok and a girl I knew there just this afternoon.
Cheers.

I'm planning a trip this summer(I know it's the humid rainy season) but I wanted to know is it still a good time to be had that time of year...are the girls gonna be out like any other season...
Re: Cocktail&Dreams Phuket
from uncle Ed's eperience.....
If a girl asks you to buy her a drink, always ask her what is she drinking.
If she looks to the bar and nods to the bartender without you asking this, you just bought a bottle of champagne.

Jimbo does not operate his Bar like that. Of any Bar owner in LOS, he is a man of honour and if he found that sort of thing going on, the perps would be looking for a new job (and maybe a new place to live)
Let me assure you that the girls respect, and even love Jimbo, he is tough on them but they understand why and they know that their future is reassured because of that.
I don't know your age but if you are more mature, Pat is a great companion. She will be a companion and make sure you are not ripped off. She will suggest multiple girls for "parties" and will also take pics on your camera for "memories". C&D is not a rip-off Bar, if you go there, take some nice Marmalade (Frank Cooper's say) and give it to Jimbo when you arrive. If he likes you, he will take you on an educational tour, worth every penny.
And by the way, prices for ladydrinks, barfine and "ring the bell" are all openly displayed.

well Jim has a rule that your bill must be at least thb 500 (aprox. 15 dollar) before you can barfine a girl...but that should be no problem with just a few ladydrinks and a drink for yourself :-)
