One great joy I had in my youth was the annual visit to the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Esplanade in Boston, for the Fourth of July concert. Our dear Arthur Feidler (Who by chance, I would meet at a fire when I was eight - He loved fire trucks) would intersperse Beethoven, Bach, Handel, Dvorjak, ad infinitum, into more modern, recognizable works, always keeping the people primed for the classics.Quote:
