See: here's the thing: it's not an either or proposition. I live in both worlds. I'm highly educated work a corporate job AND I work in adult entertainment. For me porn is equally capitalist and artistic expression for me. This us or them mentality is self-defeating for both sides. #Onlypoliticiansdealinabsolutes

There are 'non-porn' sites for the girls, that I'm not allowed to be on or will get thrown off 5 minutes after joining.
tgirltalk was porn but highly respectful of the girls.
hungdevils is more porn than tgirltalk, less than hungangels, still fairly respectful of the girls, and there is a serious issues subforum that is missing a girl to give it some real impetus again. Any girl interested, kindly let Seanchai know.
so i guess your looking for a non-porn site thats related to ts girls that both the men and women can interact?

well, it's been a while since you reminded us what kind of car you drive, so naturally we forgot and turned our attention somewhere else.

normally i would support this logic, but you acting as though if an avenue isn't created (or pointed out to you) then there is no way for you to meet transsexuals. i've actually been on non-porn transsexual forums where men were allowed to be there (or at least, no discrimination was given and there were no tests to be a member). they only didn't appeal to me because they functioned more as a support network for girls going thru transition and/or looking for people whom they could talk to when feeling down/confused etc.
i honestly don't believe people here try and look for different avenues because this place already caters for what they're really after: the illusion of being a part of that lifestyle
Re: T-Girls That Work Vs. T-Girls That Hustle
If you are truly looking to "assimilate" in to a stealth life, or a "mainstream" life outside of the t-girl world...then why are you looking for attention on forums? Spend your time connecting with other like-minded transsexual women who are not a part of the adult industry. You spend your time on this forum talking about how you want to be prettier, you want a man, etc. and you also talk down about the very girls the guys on this forum are gathering to see and discuss. Seems like you're not spending your time wisely when you do decide to grace the online t-girl world with your presence.
I really don't think you should be complaining. You are a transsexual woman who seems to be doing well in your personal life and professional life, so why do you feel the need to talk down about girls who have chosen the industry life as their way to achieve stability, or get ahead at this time in their lives? Whether your privilege has blinded you or not, some girls truly don't have the physical or mental ability to work a 9-5 job in mainstream society. It's not all about passing, although safety and comfort in every day life is essential.
Here in California, you can't get a job if you wanted a job lol but at the end of the day, it's extremely insulting to act like the majority of the women doing sex work have not considered and tried other options before utilizing this opportunity to their benefit. Maybe there's a little bit of jealousy mixed in there as well?

This is what happens when people are treated as property or trophies. You get idiots thinking that someone is defined by how much their purses are worth, or how many pairs of expensive shoes they own, or whatever materialistic BS someone values in this ridiculous consumerist culture. Immature, stupid, fake, worthless people respect money. It's pathetic.

While there are many trans* girls that fit this description, why are you so angry about it? At the end of the day, you are living a life that you are proud of...so why shit on other girls who may still be finding themselves and/or are struggling to gain acceptance within themselves and the world around them? Why not be a voice of reason and inspiration? You could easily be a great mentor or friend for some of these girls who have gotten caught up in doing whatever they can to get *what they feel they need*.
When you're life around you is warbled and confusing and sometimes dangerous and depressing, I can imagine why you would want to fill it with pretty, shiny things: to make yourself feel better.
If you, as a trans woman, cannot understand this...then you are very far removed and pretty fortunate!
A lot of these girls don't have love and acceptance from family, and they don't have the love of a strong man or woman who wants to take care of them and keep them safe. Surrounding themselves with expensive bags, pretty clothes and shoes, the hair, the jewelry, the adoring johns and fans, the cash-in-hand...you can see how it creates a bubble of "fabulousness" that masks the hardship for the time being.

how is it insulting? i think as soon as they can, a lot of them jump into sex work. personally, i think it's insulting you think otherwise
Re: T-Girls That Work Vs. T-Girls That Hustle
Even if they are jumping right into sex work upon transitioning...why do you think that is? Fear, insecurity, instability, little to no support, possibly having to start over, no positive trans role models. The majority of reasons for getting into it are because of a LACK of one or many things in their life due to being a transsexual. It's not fun and games. These girls are actresses. You don't know their real life situation. They get paid to be happy, sexy, willing to please, and to not judge you and deal with your ass for however long you paid for.
I'm in no way saying all ts women aren't capable of going out and getting a job outside of sex work. This is not the circumstance of all trans women, but it is for the majority. I'm saying that it is unfair to question and judge these girls, as the original poster did, on something that stems from lack and oppression. They have turned it into a positive thing to be able to make money, be independent, and try to build the life they want. Some girls would have gotten into the industry either way, but again, you can't judge someone from their online personality and the facade. You're talking about a very small minority of girls who are just doing sex work to get a handbag.
