i don't get how a lot of stars escort, make shitloads of vids, and have manystars accounts but still say they are poor....makes no sens.

Pay is low and transition is extremely expensive. Most have been kicked out of their homes/disowned by their families and start out in debt. And if addiction is involved, that just compounds the money problems.
