Sanctum, pretty good cave exploring movie in theaters now. Reclining lazyboys and diner served screen side def made it an awesome experience.

The Tillman Story -- last night.
It was heartbreaking. He was a saint IMHO. Amazing guy, amazing mom, amazing family and a very good documentary.

I watched the original Conan the Barbarian with my roommates a few days ago, I forgot how great the fight choreography was.
Watched "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest" on Sunday. What a great finale to a great trilogy! I don't know why they're bothering to make a Hollywood version!

Please see the original before Hollywood totally fucks it up. It amazes me that Noomi Rapace in the title role of Lisbeth Salander has been overlooked for acting awards - she lived in the character for more than two years while they shot the books back to back. As a piece of brilliantly sustained characterisation of an individual on the edge it'w without parallel imho.
I haven't seen any of those, but I really want to! By the way, have you seen the Swedish film Let The Right One In? I've seen the remake Let Me In, and I was really blown away by the acting and the subtext of the movie, and was wondering if, as they usually are, the original is better.Quote:

Let the Right One In was the best film I saw in all of 2010.
Best so far this year has to be the Argentinian thriller The Secret in their Eyes which won the best foreign film oscar last year.
You guys should get over the subtitles hurdle - you miss some great movies otherwise.
I'm lucky that there's a great independent cinema in Cambridge where the best foreign movies come. Otherwise they never make the multiplexes and you have to wait for the DVD.
I personally don't mind subtitles. I enjoyed Apocalypto and The Downfall, which are completely in subtitles. I thought The Passion of The Christ had amazing cinematography, but the dialogue was somewhat incidental to that film, it was much more of a visual experience.Quote:
