Bottom line is discussion has not died, it has slowed down compared to some days in the past for various reasons. The board works just fine, if you two hang a little bit longer, you will get used to it, it really is not that difficult.
It is on page 5 because there are 50 picture threads taking up room in the General Discussion forum. Who claimed it was difficult? Tedious and difficult are two different concepts. It isn't difficult reading through a few pages, but it is tedious. Works just fine? You might be satisfied with fine, but I'm not.

Over the course of three months? This is one of a handful of discussion threads in the first 3 pages of General Discussion. Compare that to any other mainstream board and it wouldn't make sense.

What topics do you want to see discussed on the main board? Remember, politics and religion, escorts, sports, have their own sections, so anything connected with those topics is usually moved off the main board, if not posted in them in the first place.
Inevitably, all discussion threads sink eventually, but if interesting enough then some will float near the top of the board for a while. Start a thread and see what happens...:D

I'm interested in reading the thoughts of the women who star in scenes I enjoy. The same way people are interested in the thoughts of celebrities I wish it was easier to see the ongoing discussions with some of the talent. Which is why I feel the "Ask ChristianXXX anything" thread is such a brilliant idea. Imagine if the first page was filled with similar threads for the active stars on this forum. Clearly I can't make a thread for these people, but I would love to join in on one started by one of the stars. For me getting to know some of these actors/actresses makes the content that much more appealing. The same way reading about celebrities and watching their movies makes them more enjoyable and why it is such big business in Hollywood.
So for me that is one of the main things I wouldn't mind seeing more of on the main page of General Discussion. I just read through the first 20 pages of General Discussion and 90% of it are picture threads. There are some discussions I thought about commenting on but resurrecting threads from a month ago is frowned upon in a lot of places. I'm not familiar with the etiquette here and seeing as how someone tried to comment on my post count gave me the feeling that unless you fall in line with the status quo you'll most likely be driven out. Which is a shame because this forum is one of the only havens for individuals who enjoy TGirls.

BTW, threads from several years ago have been known to be bumped. So you are not going to run into a problem if you want to resurrect one from a month ago.

People resurrect posts that are years old sometimes, go for it.
To me, the main discussion board is the only board I go to because it has both discussions and picture threads that sometimes start discussions or vice versa. There is no need to fix something that isn't broken.
As for the stars coming around here, they pop in from time to time, hang out more, you'll find what you are looking for sooner or later.
