I understand. My folks are getting older so I am trying to convince them to move out here hahaha. They will have there full pension soon so they can do it.
Thailand has great weather, cheap and good quality hospitals, everything is inexpensive (compared to back home). They would probably love it here!
I'm in the exact position as SMF, mom is mid 80's & doing great but I can see the change old age brings in the last 12 months & I feel this is the person who wiped my ass every day for years when I was young, I owe her a lot really. I couldn't just leave her to cope with the end while I was whoring away in the tropics, no way.
It doesn't hurt to put $$$ away in the meantime too.... but every single day i think about my relocating somewhere in southeast Asia in the future.
Yes, I understand. I go back and visit regularly. But, the time will come when I need to get my ass back home to change my parents diapers. It's the circle of life (Lion King!!).
