The French Connection I, still an amazing film after all these years; everything about it works -the dialogue is sharp, the music is unobtrusive and often absent giving scenes more tension; the car chase remains one of the best on screen; and the lighting too gives the night scenes an edge. Friedkin made films the way Michael Mann does today. Brilliant.

A halfway decent zombie flick set in Africa.
I am watching The Day After Tomorrow right now as I make this post. I watched for the first time Quantum of Solace earlier.
John Huston's final movie was also called The Dead - based on the Dubliners by James Joyce. Wonderful and I confess more my speed than a zombie film.
