I see the term 'trap' as coming from younger males (teens). At their age, it's not about professional sex workers, just someone who is passable. But they need not have had surgeries or anything. I thought the term trap as applied to TS came from a silly internet meme years ago. Now it seems like it means young, slim, very passable, slightly boyish, emo-like, transsexuals.
It did come from a meme. It's based on bailey jay's experience when she wasn't on hormones or anything. So "trap" basically means a passable TS without hormones or surgery starting out very young. Since there isn't a lot of super passable traps without hormones some are "slightly boyish" as you put it.
