Sci-fi is commonplace now, kind of takes the imagination out of it.

No, but when are we ever ready for anything that's happened to us ,in the last few millenniums....personally I feel that massive unemployment will hit our civilization before AI has a chance to be fully realized and that might slow down the rush for it. As far as will it be good or bad ...I tend to lean on the side of caution , this will be a species with greater powers than humans, if it's allowed full sentience. It won't be controlled ,like humans are, by instincts and unconscious processes. (It might , if it is sentient, it might be able to go around any behavioral programming we in-bed it with ) It will be a GOD....Are we ready?
I'll start thinking about getting ready for this bullshit when Siri starts to "get it".
Stephen Hawking says machines aren't the problem, inequality is....

He makes some very good points. But inequality has nothing to do with machines. There's always been some asshole or group of assholes who think they should be in charge, & everybody else should be subserviant. Today, technology notwithstanding, is no different.
I agree with his take (or lack thereof) on women.
I was just reading about Bill Gates and his.... "alleged" .....shadowy deal with THE MAN to make Windows 10 an NSA dream. I never have trusted that guy.
Oddly there is only one thing I agree with black men on: All women are either bitches or hoes.........
(not you, Mom)
(not you, female analyst reading this at some government spy agency)
Love how with just one sentence you manage to slur both blacks and women. Bravo.
how did this thread devolve into misogynist advertising?
