Gwyneth Paltrow -the most beautiful woman in the world

People magazine has voted Gwyneth Paltrow the most beautiful woman in the world, in a list that includes Jane Fonda and Drew Barrymore. Lists help to fill up spaces in newspapers and magazines, but the list here seems eclectic to say the least. And while she can look good in a tight dress, Ms Paltrow to me is a bit on the thin side and too tall, I would prefer, say, Isabelle Huppert, but have no idea how these lists are compiled. I can't comment on most of the others as I don't know who they are.

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been named the world's most beautiful woman by People magazine.
The 40-year-old mother of two knocks singer Beyonce off the top spot.
She says she keeps in shape by exercising five days a week.
"It makes me look younger and feel strong," Gwyneth Paltrow told the US magazine. "When I first started, I thought, 'I'll never be good at this. This is a nightmare.' But now it's like brushing my teeth, I just do it."
It is the fourth time Gwyneth Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, has been named in the magazine's annual beautiful people issue but the first time she has come top.
She joins the likes of fellow actresses Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, Halle Berry and Jennifer Aniston to top the list.
Gwyneth Paltrow's latest film, Iron Man 3, is out in cinemas this week.
The actress has cut back on her film work after having her children - Apple, eight, and Moses, seven.
She also released her second cookbook, It's All Good, this month and set up a lifestyle and clothing website.
Paltrow won an Oscar for her role as William Shakespeare's muse in the 1998 film Shakespeare in Love.

i have problems with most lists (of any kind) but i think this one must've been done to really get them attention. none of the women mentioned are unattractive, but to say they're amongst the most beautiful women in the world is beyond stretching it (with the exception of jane fonda)

That whole list is pretty bad to me. Jane Fonda was never hot even whe she was Hanoi Jane in the 60s. Outside if Kerry, Zooey, and Jennifer, they could of done so much better with that list. Just my opinion! There are more lady's on this site that would blow away women on this list.

I think Gwyneth Paltrow is really hot. I would take her over most women. I'm not sure about number 1 though. She is not my favorite but I still like the selection much better than someone like Beyonce or J-Lo. But that is personal preference.

Most female celebs are average. I mean, makeup and, well, surgery help. It enhances their physical and facial features. However Gwyneth Paltrow seems to exude natural good looks.
And there's a lot of pressure to look glamorous, to look stunning, to look extra-ordinary.

A month later and Gwyneth wouldn't give them time of day, no interview, so no cover.

Gwyneth is pretty in a porcelain way and I'd do her. But the real beauty in the family is her mother Blythe Danner -- I'd still go after that first if I had a choice.

Agreed. But Olivia Wilde is still pretty friggen hot. Even that "bad" picture of her is way better than most women could look with make-up on, JMHO.

Jessica Simpson and Brittney Spears would have probably been regular women if they didn't have music careers: hot looking at the club in their early twenties, but unremarkable looking by 30 or so. I never thought Fergie was pretty to begin with.

Pamela Lee was never really my type, but was still very hot for a while. She's 45 right now and still looks great for her age.

I wouldn't be surprised if the entities behind People magazine have financial interests in Ironman III. The controversy around this choice can only help their cause.

This list was not put together by people who are sexually attracted to women. The average age for this top ten (after excluding joke-entry Jane Fonda) is 34. That alone tells us it's not actually based on attractiveness since women peak in their early-mid 20s.

This is part industry PR and part feel-good delusion fodder for aging single women that beauty is attainable at any age.
