I was perusing the interwebz, and I came across a story about Chloe Sagal who was outed by a journalist. Here's a couple of blog posts about it.

Just wanted to get some people's opinion who has more expertise on the subject.
Personally I think the journalist is an asshole.

She is back home with friends and family now, and actually had a roundtable discussion with the guy that outed her on Gamers Against Bigotry's website. It's a good read and quite eye opening on the perspectives and outcomes for both parties.
