Dark Side of the Loon? Roger Waters and the Prism of Truth

In 1947, TS Eliot wrote the preface to what, at the time, was an anonymous collection of eyewitness reports of the USSR's armed forces in Poland during the Second World War. The book, published in 1947 was called The Dark Side of the Moon, and you can read extracts from it in the link below. I mention it because of Russia's attempt to annex the Ukraine, offering chilling similarities to what happened in the 1940s.

In fact there is no connection between the book and Pink Floyd's album The Dark Side of the Moon, indeed, according to this link, if there are literary links, it is more than likely the Chinese poetry that Roger Waters was interested in, though there is a lot of speculation in the link.

Be that as it may, it is sort of ironic that Waters was asked to address the UN on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and has said some things that some people think are borderline, if not actually lunatic, thus one wonders if Roger Waters has decided his importance is now so great he needs to inform/remind everyone about it, including a re-recording of the album, for which he did write the lyrics,

On the one hand he condemns the war, and claims he supports the rights of everyone, Palestinians and Israelis equally; on the other hand, he has said-

"The Ukraine... is a deeply divided country. In fact, it's not really a country at all, it's only been there since Khrushchev, 1956. So it's a patchy sort of vague experiment."

There may be only a temporary dark side to the Moon, one wonders if Waters is temporarily loon?
