Chapter 8: Dreams!
Sara could hear voices around her as she slowly woke up from what seemed to be a very long sleep. She opened her eyes, but had a very hard time seeing what was around her. She could only move her head, as the rest of her body would not respond. She felt pain in almost every bone of her body. When her eyesight came back to normal, she quickly realized that she was in a hospital room.
-“Doctor!”
Both the nurse and the doctor went towards her. The doctor took out from his pocket a little instrument that looked like a small flashlight. He examined her eyes, temporarily blinding her eyesight.
-“Can you hear me, Sara?”

She tried to remember the events that happened before waking up in here. She went to her best friend’s place in Florida for a week and meet Sylvia. She didn’t have much choice but to trust the doctor. Questions were still flowing in her mind. Where were Jonathan, Samantha and her parents? How many days have passed? How severe were her injuries? With all the strength she still had in her, she began to talk.

-“The… The cab…”

The doctor turned around and noticed that someone had just walked in. She tried to find out who it was, but gave up since she was too weak.

I took a chance and phone the police to find out if you had been involved in an accident. The answer I got confirmed my fears and I headed right away to the hospital they brought you in. Both Sara and Samantha looked at the entrance to the room. There was Jonathan, coffee in hand.
-“Oh! I was telling Sara about my new boyfriend.”

-“Eric!”

Jonathan headed towards them and sat down at the corner of the bed. Samantha sat down on a chair that was nearby.

-“Wait! Let me continue, please! When you arrived at the airport one week later, you called your boyfriend to let him know you were back and that you were going to take a cab back home.”
-“Right!”

She was no longer confused, but it didn’t make her feel any better.
