Try the Politics and Religion section, otherwise you will find in this section discussions only go as far as participants want it to.

Because people have a limited attention span and such a poor memory that the same topics keep getting reposted. This topic being obvious example, having been extensively discussed just recently, including contributions by the OP...

As Stavros suggests, look to the politics section.

This is a porn discussion site, and to be simplistic, porn is very visual.

Very true, but some people here seem to be adverse to talk sometimes. There could be 1000 reasons for that. I believe if we are friendly to each other more people will feel more comfortable opening up.

I think everyone is pretty friendly to each other here, sure there are little spats here and there. As far as discussions go, as stated earlier, there are a lot of other boards on this site, and most are discussions.

I don't disagree, you have to think about the wider audience if you want participation. We all have different personalities. Some are comfortable and confident, others may not be. I agree most are friendly. If you want open dialogue you need to make the environment right for all.

I am not saying that does not happen here. I think this site is great. We create our own culture. It's something we can control.

It didn't used to be like that. Back in the day there were more regular TS floating around and we had lots of back and forth. By regular I mean not professional.

Culture is very strong, it can dictate a lot of things. It is also something that can be changed and controlled. Chin up lads/ladies, we all have something in common.

The same topics kept coming up over and over, namely the gay question. But the other thing was that many people said mean things to one another. And this was especially troublesome when girls of the most persecuted minority, (t-girls) fought each other with the most hurtful words. One of my favorite posters, used to tell some juicy stories about the NY t-scene. but seems like he got attacked a lot by certain people. His screen name was Megabody. Hard to believe I joined almost 10 years ago.

Well, I suppose it is a message to us all. We all know there are bullies out there. It is up to us to stop that. Like I said, we can change culture, that is what is needed.

I for one will not stand for bullying, and will protect those who may fall prey.

End of the day we have each other, let's look after our brothers and sisters and have a little fun along the way.

another repeated thread by hollz thank you very much sir :D

i guess one of the main reasons discussion died out is because people ask the same ??s repeatedly and the responses are usually the same

Probably doesn't help a constant influx of who is this girl who took one pic in 1995.

Seems to be another phase. Currently there are a few users who enjoy posting endless amounts of pictures taken from the free gallery pages of various sites; some are nice pics but it does tend to take over. And whilst there doesn't seem to be much variation on other topics beyond 'where did the discussion go' my guess is people got fed up of starting threads that just get lost in the overwhelming number of pic threads.

Personally I'd like to see a limit on the amount of pics/pic threads that individual members can post over a certain amount of time. Multiple threads that are vaguely similar themed that just contain one person's hard-drive picture collection feels a bit like spam or real life junk mail; eventually it gets boring and people don't even bother to look anymore they just ignore it - which would be all good if it wasn't killing off the rest of the interesting stuff.

Or as a separate suggestion maybe keep the General Discussion sub-forum and create a Picture theme thread sub-forum for those that love mega-posting pictures.

I definitely see what you're saying, however sometimes the picture threads generate some discussion, and it is after all, a porn board.

I know what you mean - one of the reasons why I think a separate sub-forum might be a good idea.
