Can't post my screen shots

Why does the image uploader keep rejecting my screenshots even after I edit them to be less then 1MB ? These are just screenshots from windows 10 screensaver

Can anyone tell us the protocol for uploading gif files ? I checked the FAQ and can't find anything .
