Some lovely girls there but I think Ashlee Ryan-Rose would get my vote.

Never heard of her before but she's a very natural looking beauty.

Will the media pick up on her recent past Or will she fail to attend

Tara Hudson also escorts, as Tia Star, but with a much better reputation. Wouldn't surprise me to find out that some of the other girls do as well. It did occur to me to wonder if their occupation would affect the outcome (assuming the judges were aware of it).

I neant the bad part of the revews. I am sure the judges are aware of problems girls have in getting mainstream jobs

Fair point. I suppose it depends on whether the judges read this forum... ;)

Christian, you got it good.

Leave us third world brits something from the table.

By the way.

Love your work. You're a class act.

According to the website "the first ever Miss Transgender UK will take place in Cardiff later this month..." -the first ever? How many beauty pageants have there been in the last 40 years? Or is it the first to have that title? Even that doesn't make it original, though I assume it must be for Cardiff.

Some clarification is in order as I discovered after posting the above that a friend of mine is entering the Brighton heats. I did not realise that there are regional heats -hence the event in Cardiff, one in Brighton, etc- with a Grand Final in London. The prize money of £5,000 is more generous than usual, the main website for the event is here:

Having met Nicki Valentina (Birmingham) in person, if the contest is judged on looks alone then she'll win hands down. Her photo REALLY doesn't do her justice.

The pageant took place over last weekend but I have not found out yet who won it as the website has not been updated. Maybe in the next week to 10 days.
