I sort of liked his Fat Albert cartoon but really can't think of any of his other work that I liked. Maybe his role in Mother, Jugs and Speed - so that makes two things. But even those two things were pretty mediocre - good for a couple of laughs and that was it. And consider the other 998 things he produced that I thought was either bad or bordering on godawful.

I mention his work because people lionized him for it, and now are crestfallen. But really this guy had jerk written all over him, even without the rapes. People just didn't want to notice. Poor taste and poor judgement.

Give the kid a break. He made it through 4 years with a degree. He doesn't need to be scolded on that day. But the kicker, of course, is that Cosby dropped out of college. Couldn't cut it. But that doesn't stop him from moralizing all over the place.

I sympathize with the women, and the no talent Cosby can enjoy his golden years knowing the world is convinced he's a shitbag.

Bill Cosby released an album years ago on which he actually sings serious music.

Here is, perhaps, a pretty bad choice of music for the Cos' to have selected in light of all these recent allegations of his passed sexual abuse activities.

I am really shocked by all of this because, between my brother and me, we owned quite a few comedy records by the Cos'.
I suppose it just goes to show how we never really know people by what they present to the world.

Human beings are basically monsetrs deep down, sometimes we have to be thankful for the laws which keep us in check.
Too bad that those who enforce the laws are sometimes not much better than common criminals.

I wanted to mention that the Bill Cosby album i posted in a recent post in which he talks to kids about drugs was released in 1971.
This teen rape accusation in Ben's post happened in 1974.

Hmm.That's three years, that we know of, of his experimentation with pills called downers (date rape drug). Makes me wonder, now.

Oh Bill. What happened, man?

You'd think that these rich guys could get (pay for) who ever was willing to have sex for money. Why go after friends, fans, minors to drug them. That's really not cool.
He had the money to hire someone for sex.

Statute. Proof is very tough to come by in rape cases. Other crimes evidence is not admissible in a criminal trial because due process says a person should not be convicted on the basis of uncharged crimes. But when someone has been accused of over a dozen rape charges it becomes exceedingly improbable they are not guilty of any of them.

False accusations of rape are rare. Are they so rare that the accused doesn't deserve due process? Of course not. But over a dozen accusations has to make someone who is aware of the statistics very dubious about his purported innocence. Unless of course there is a conspiracy, in which case the false accusations are not independent events. And then we'd have to collapse this thread and the other one.
