Anybody watched this Blade: The Series on Spike TV? I just watched a second run of the pilot and it wasn't half bad. It was directed by Peter O'Fallon (directed the pilot for Sam Raime's whacked out series American Gothic, which was brilliant) and produced by David Goyer (who, among other things, wrote the screenplay for Dark City, and the script for Batman Begins).
It's not a bad pilot episode at all. I think the production costs of the show will kill it early, which is too bad, but so far it seems like pretty damn good entertainment.
It got a little bit overly gothy, spooky kook kinda stuff at times, but I thought it was pretty good for a pilot episode.
Best line:
[Discussing the effectiveness of a new weapon system]
"My stuff always works! Where did you hit him?"
(Blade just looks at the guy in disbelief, then keeps walking).
Blade, of course, nailed the bad guy in the head, but the weapon didn't work. It was a funny moment.
Judge for yourself, but I think this show has potential.
