Its very sad to say that the Legendary Portia LaBeija from the Legendary House of LaBeija passed away last week. Portia was an Icon in NYC and one of the most glamourous transsexuals. She hosted several transsexual partys in NYC and was the life of any party she attend. Many transsexuals in NYC looked up to her cause she was one classy lady and dressed to the nines every day.....day and night.

If you ever attended a TS party in NYC I'm sure you saw her sitting on top of the bar and was the life of the party.

Myself and NYC TS Promoter Sandy Michelle and friends are doing the most grandest Celebration of Life Party for Lady P. as some of us called her. We must honor a Legendary TS that paved the way for many girls in NYC. Those that knew her and admired her are welcome to Celebrate her Life with us on Monday March 17th at the GRAND venue "The Top of the Standard" at the Standard Hotel. This will be a very classy upscale celebration so get dressed up and Celebrate a Legends Life!!

Wow, that is both shocking and sad. Portia was my hang out buddy, a beautiful person of great style and elegance, a lady of grandeur and what has been stated is all true, always very charismatic and vivacious. I'm saddened by this news and hope that the younger girls can borrow a page from her life.
