Donut shop: Krispy Kreme (crazy good when they're fresh and hot)

Grocery store: Entenmann's chocolate frosted devil's food

i hate cronuts and have not had a good donut in a long time but i used to love dunkin donuts blueberry cake donuts. If I had to choose these days I would say voodoo doughnut has some of the best I have ever had. Never been a fan of krispy kreme(even when they are hot and fresh) but tim hortons is ok. The Crumb top entenmmanns are pretty good too

There's actually a Stan's Donuts in Westwood Village that's kinda famous to us locals. Huell Howser did a show on the place.

Yeah , that was a good Huell Howser episode ! That place if famous ,lucky to have it in your neighborhood! RIP , Huell.
Hey , stan.smith ,those Entenmann's do look good. Haven't seen them here in LA ,I'll have to check again and ask the grocer.
I'm originally from Joisey too, and always liked the French crumb topping thing , but one doesn't see it out here as much.

Yes, Stan's is terrific. I love donuts but prefer great pastry. Schat's bakery's located in Bishop and Mammoth Lakes CA, are my sentimental favorites. In LA, there is a little place called Amandine on the north side of Wilshire, two blocks west of Bundy. They have a banana custard 'pizza' that is amazing.
