Ok. We've all seen threads about best movies. Well how about the best worst movies ever made?.

My vote goes to a little ditty made in 1958.
It's stars...get ready for one.....Zsa Zsa Gabor.
It's called "the Queen Of Outer Space"

This movie is the quintessential B movie with a budget of about $5.00 :jawdrop

What's your pick?

So so many competitors. I nominate Ben Stein's Expelled: No Intelligence Required. Also Attack of the Evil Brain from Outer Space.

If by "worst" you mean the most critically despised film, then it has to go to Armageddon. It was a great movie, and more artistic than it had to be, yet film critics badmouth it to no end.

"Big Fat Ethel 2."

"Things."

"The Amazing Bulk"

"Psycho From Texas"

Trust me. Watch them. Then after you watch them you will regret watching them and want to kill yourself or maybe some one else. Most likely the people who made these movies.

LMAO enjoy.

I don't really think that "Plan 9 from outer space qualifies. it is such a ramshackle affair that you can't expect anything from it.

Worst is hard to quantify.. For me some of the worst are films other people like - but which i find deeply repuslive (Such as the Saw franchise or the human centipedte films). They are deeply repuslive. Then again some of the worst films I've ever seen were years ago as a film critic. "Danish Dentist on The Job," "Confessions of a Window Cleaner" and... perhaps the worst of all ..."Deadly Weapons" starring the late Chesty Morgan. I can't find a clip from the film but essentially she played an avenging angel who went around killing criminals by smothering them with her enormous breasts.

these 2 films can be used as a litmus test to find out how about a film can be. i've never met a human alive who has been able to watch nightfall and not be depressed. and the other film can be collectively described as unwatchable by human standards

so you mean you just assumed she was dead for no reason at all? don't you feel this is an unfair accusation to make without any proof. (http://www.hungangels.com/vboard/showthread.php?p=1296360#post1296360)

actually, i took it more as you commenting on something without proof. i thought you were going to provide a link and say "i read it here" but your response was "she is still alive?" as though you just expected her to be dead.

also, i think the mars and titan relationship might actually be closer than you think. titan is probably the closest body to a prehistoric earth and the only other body besides earth that has seasons, while mars is possibly the only other planet besides earth that can support human life after terraforming.

so again- strange examples because they have those 2 unique things in common

No doubt in my mind - Battlefield Earth with John Travolta, from the book by his religion's inventor, L Ron Hubbard. Total garbage from start to finish. 2% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Might give Phat Girls an honorable mention

I think this is the point: the worst films are usually bottom of the pile because they are cheap to make, have poor acting, poor scripts, poor production values but acquire kitsch/cult status because they are so bad, like Attack of the Killer Bimbos from the eighties, and for example the John Waters films.

Deciding what is the 'worst film' to me would mean selecting a film that has been panned by critics and the public, but which on reflection may not appear to be as bad as it was thought. I have had to think about this and so far I can't come up with a film that fits the description precisely, although there are films which I think have been under-rated, which is not quite the same thing. Francis Ford Coppola's One from the Heart was panned, for good reason, its awful; there is the famous/notorious case of Michael Cimino's Heaven's Gate, which is good in parts, or Catwoman (with Halle Berry 2008) [which I haven't seen] and Franco Zeffirelli's film Il giovane Toscanini (1988) disappeared shortly after it was released it was so bad (starred C Thomas Howell as Arturo Toscanini, Elizabeth Taylor as an ageing and apparently hysterical soprano etc etc.

If it was the Worst Best film ever made then we could have fun selecting those films with great reputations which we think are an abomination. Apart from the entire oeuvre of Jean-Luc Godard, I would choose Gone with the Wind, and Psycho, and that's just for starters...

God there have been so many, I remember one about 12 years ago called magnolia with Tom Cruise. It's always stuck out in my mind as being exceedingly dreadful. I was so pissed that i'd lost almost three hours of my life.

like Attack of the Killer Bimbos from the eighties

i actually own this film. it's pretty fun. the late 80s/early 90s softcore skinemax films really nailed the bad comedy down. immediately they started shooting on video- things went downhill- fast.

saloon.com recently named ridley scott's new film 'the counselor' the "worst film ever made (http://www.salon.com/2013/10/26/meet_the_worst_movie_ever_made/)" and i have to say "it's pretty fucking bad. like insultingly bad"

i don't think trish watched the same film (http://www.hungangels.com/vboard/showpost.php?p=1408336&postcount=2857)

I have to vote for Maximum Overdrive. Machines come to life, take over the world, led by a truck with a giant joker on front, the whole sound track by AC/DC and throw in cheesy Emilio Estevez, you got yourself an instant classic.

Have to agree but two things don't forget to add on Stephen King to the title..and (sorry this is a Marvel thing for me) it is the Green Goblin not the Joker.

Absolutely, I completely forgot about Stephen King until after I posted the pic. Oh and I said "a joker", I'm not sure if it is referred to as the Green Goblin in the movie or just a generic joker, been a while since I watched it. For what it's worth, I would never confuse the Green Goblin with the Joker.

At least you are on message in the thread, whereas people are now just posting lists of films they think are bad, rather than selecting films which though accepted by critics and audience to be poor might have a saving grace.

Latest offering in The Guardian is this hilariously bad film about the House of Versace, which isn't likely to be shown in the UK. Sounds like it works as a comedy.

is that the one with gina gershon? i have to tell you- i have a big thing for her. i cannot find anything she does terrible (even though that made-for-tv film was really terrible, and so was showgirls) but for me- it's gina gershon, and she can do no wrong.

but you know what made that film bad though was they focused more on donatella versace instead of versace himself. and then, they made her do this really contrived italian accent. it was so over the top it seemed more like a parody of a parody of a bad film
