There has to be a way to stop them but how?

Good quality razor with a max of two blades. Lather the skin properly, you may find that an oil works better, also shave after soaking the skin to make sure there's no 'drag' (again this is why oil or gel is good). Afterwards use a good soothing balm. Then exfoliate a few times a week as it'll prevent the skin regrowing back over the hairs and the hairs won't end up trapped, forming the bump.

Over the years I've tried the things mentioned in this thread and then some, but nothing worked. Now I use a Wahl hair clipper, it shaves close enough to look clean shaven but it isn't so close that it'll cause bumps from hair growing under the skin.

Ah God, perfect example of what not to do! Shave with the grain, not against it.

Ever see my photos? The answer is ice cubes immediately after shaving. Rub one on the problem area till it is, (the ice cube) mostly gone. Instant smoothness. Nothing beats natural skin/pore contraction.

There are some ideas in this thread that I'm going to try because my skin is VERY sensitive and marks like a motherfucker, whether it be shaving bumps/rash from a razor or bruises, welts, and redness from S&M play.
