An Oakland TV station was apparently duped into giving racist, incorrect names for the pilots of the Boeing 777 that crash landed at a San Francisco airport on Saturday.

Anchor Tori Campbell of KTVU said on the air Friday that the Asiana jet crew, flying from Seoul, consisted of "Captain Sum Ting Wong," "Wi Tu Lo," "Ho Lee Fuk," and "Bang Ding Ow."

"The NTSB has confirmed these are the names of the pilots on board Flight 214 when it crashed," Campbell said during the noon report. "We are working to determine what roles each of them played during the landing on Saturday."

The station later apologized with Campbell saying on the air: "These names were not accurate despite an NTSB official confirming them this morning. We apologize for this error."

I mean, yeah, they're saying the NTSB gave them the names (which is something I think is BS anyway) but come on, how about if you're the director/producer and you see this, you just make a decision to NOT say the names since it's so obvious there's some kind of prank going on.

Yes, it was about the crash, the video is about the crash. There is no separating the two, even if some other moron, much like yourself, inserted those stupid racist names to embarrass a tv station, why disrespect those three people who died like that? In the concept of defamation, which the person who gave those names pretty much did, each person who spreads the defamation is equally guilty of the original crime, because it continues the victimization of the innocent party. So yeah, asshole, in essence, you continued the victimization of innocent parties. And were racist while doing it. It's a simple concept that applies to other areas of life as well. Evidently, someone from the station did check w/ NTSB who confirmed as to the validity. NTSB. in their own defense are putting the blame on an intern, who shall be dealt with "appropriately".
