Yeah but for girls there's a general (maybe unwritten) rule that 'If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.' I mean, some of the pics that get posted here, naming no names, WTF, you know? Just in the last 24 hours I've had to bite my tongue so often it's got a callus. There's a fine line between honesty and causing offence, and that goes about 5x when transwomen are involved.

Having said that, I have always genuinely thought Karla was a real cutie. Whoever upset her, stop it and apologise.

In fact there's no such thing as a 'British accent'; there are a multitude of varieties of English, Scots, Welsh and Irish accents, but no generic one-size-fits-all 'British' one. Most people mean a softened version of RP...but that is very definitely an English accent.

I organize events, parties and exhibitions for a living, and no matter how much effort I put in it, there is always 5% of assclowns you can't satisfy. Lovely Karla, I think Quiet Reflections is right on the money on that one: you should try to take any bad comment as a disguised or misguided compliment. Most of the time, when someone find some nasty stuff to say about you, it's their own insecurity or envy or frustration that they really express, and it's precisely what they find intimidating in you that sets it off. Or else, why would they get out of their way to do so? why would they take the time to do it? You don't care about what's totally indifferent to you, you just don't even pay attention to it. Someone who takes the time to criticize you is noticing something he/she feels uncomfortable about. That's as simple as that to me, most of the time...
