Wasn't this the same man who wanted smaller government? Wasn't he talking about seceding? Didn't his party vote AGAINST aid for victims of Sandy...a natural disaster? Now he wants aid for victims of an accident - an unnatural disaster at that - caused by a private company?
Talk about hypocrisy...

Well remember the VP candidate Paul Ryan who quaffed down Government aid and then argued against it in his campaign. Don't expect consistency from these guys!

With Perry it's not a matter of consistency, he probabably just can't remember his vote on hurricane relief or way back to the campaign when he took his small government secessionist stance. What were those three government agencies he was going to eliminate? Don't worry if you can't remember, because he can't either.

While it will never happen a response from the WH along the lines of, " due to issues of federalism and interference in commerce we believe we should let the fertilizer company pay for the clean up and reconstruction efforts."

I wish they WOULD grow a pair and say something like that...although it would leave a bitter taste in a lot of people's mouths. They could state it, then add that the government would aid the innocent whose homes were destroyed due to the factory's negligence.
Go ahead and thumbs-down this post as well, whoever-you-are. You know we're correct about the situation. Don't spew bullshit about "government giving out handouts", then asking for one in return.
The statement and picture below was on a friend's Facebook page:
"If you rail against the federal government, support secession, cry about business regulations and vote against funding the recovery effort for a natural disaster in another state but then want federal money for a man-made disaster in your own back yard...You might be a Teapublican". - Manny Schewitz

The shear two faced nature of folks on the right be they in business or politics is amazing.
Government relief is bad until my state needs it. States rights in matters of elections are clearly defined until GWB was going to lose. Head Start for kids bad, oil and crop subsides good.
Now it would be bad form for the Obama Administration to start to say to states like Texas and Mississippi that take more Federal dollars than they pay in that we respect their concerns about Federalism and will no longer burden them with the unwanted money and interference. But one can't say it wouldn't be equal parts of entertaining and justice!

Thanks for the continued thumbs down these replies continue to generate. It makes me proud to see exposure of such hypocrisy pinches a nerve.

Rick Perry: One of the many thick-as-a-brick, anti-science numbskulls that inhabit the uncivilized, anti-American government, rootin'-tootin-shootin' wilds of Texas.

He's a moron that got exposed during the presidential debate.
He couldn't even name the 3 branches of government.

It is essentially a separate country.... Isn't it.... And, yeah, he's quite hostile to the Federal government.... But it's politics. Meaning: entertainment.... It's all show:
