Haha ok, I know this a porn a site ~_~ BUT! I figured this place would actually be friendly to a trans person trying to do something (besides naked).

Basically, I'm an artist / game developer in LA!

Anyhow, I would love if you guys took a look at the project I'm doing ( http://kck.st/ZYaA9x ) and I would really appreciate any support you guys could offer :) I'm doing all the writing, art, and bulk of the design for the game (along with leading the project), so... it is a ton of work, but something I'm pretty passionate about :)

((For all the closet guys, don't worry ~_~ I'm a respected artist in the industry, this isn't anything you need to hide your support of... yea, I'm trans, but I'm a professional.))

Oh yea, this is me btw (I'm also on the video :P And on various other videos on youtube...and was on a show...and ...ehhh various other places :P )

I love the concept art and will definitely check out your Kickstarter page a little bit more thoroughly in a bit :)

Good luck with the campaign :)

As an avid Pokemoner in my youth I for one am VERY impressed. Not only because it's a great looking game, but the fact that you are an artist and put all of this together. My hat is off to you. Best of luck with it.

Would this end up being similar to Bastion?

As far as speed of the action?

Either way, it shows promise.

Thanks :D Glad you like what I'm doing :) The game also touches on a lot of issues which I think makes it stand out a bit from the normal games out there (and the world has a tranny race :3 Because, well, trannies are awesome?).

Actually bastion felt a little clunky to me (and combat was kind of button mashy). So, Bloom will play tighter (and the entire "bridge" feature means you will have split second reaction abilities). :)

Cool. Thanks for the response.

Very nice wish you the best, please don't get jaded?
Thank you

Get jaded? From what? :) You mean as trans? Hmm, I'm in a more accepting field and location so am happily out as trans.

But things like these types of fundraising campaigns relying on the greater public for support gets a little tricky with the trans thing... hopefully it doesn't hurt me too much?

Good idea, super graphics and wonderful idea to look for support in this place here. Best wishes and all the luck for you from Germany

Yay, someone who's not a whore! ... but you're still looking for money, ah well :P

CAN'T WIN FOR TRYING! Good luck with the kickstarter campaign, I hope it works out. Indie games are such a good idea these days.

Impressive graphics and that's definitely not a theme you see in too many games. Good luck with everything.

Unfair statement... there's not a person on the planet who isn't looking for money... anyone claiming otherwise is lying.

Besides: it's what you do when not hunting money that counts... and rabbiteyes seems to be doing something productive when not looking for money.

I think you're VERY pretty and I think guys find it easier to give money to pretty girls than to other guys. IOW, I'll be contributing soon because your concept is nice, your team is obviously committed, and you gave a very convincing overall presentation. Oh, and because you're pretty. :D

Huh... that's really impressive. Those graphics are freaking gorgeous! I'm a game designer too, but I've never ventured into 3D modeling or high-quality digital painting. I stick to 2D pixel art and classic side-scrolling platformers. I'm just a single-dude production team so it's nearly impossible tackling anything much more complicated considering I'm the graphics artist, music composer, storyline author, programmer, game tester, and advertising firm; but I've been working on a retro RPG engine lately regardless.

I used to be in a few hobby production teams, but because nobody was earning a paycheck on the regular, team members would come and go pretty often which would act as a setback to nearly every project we worked on. I eventually got sick of all the hold-ups and bumbled, unorganized, uncommented code I'd have to sort through just to do my part.

Bloom: Memories runs off of an ISO engine? Doesn't look that way. Almost looks like the Zelda: LttP 3/4ths view, but it could be the awesome backgrounds that are throwing me off. I love the concept of emotional pain taking the place of HP or health and the connection between two characters is unique and imaginative. The preview video makes the game look really immersive.

I can't offer funding and I kind of have to pour money into my own projects, but I'll definitely share your link through my facebook account. Good luck!

The game looks really good, reminds me of high graphic quality side scrollers like Trine and Trine 2. I'll be looking out for it. Have you tried the steam greenlight project to get more exposure for it? Sorry if I missed that in the bio.

Dani, one main question not related to the game. Why are references in the bio to you using male pronouns like "he and his"? Is this by your choice, or your project partners leaned on you to identify as such? Or am I reading too much into it?

Not trying to be offensive, as I am very proud of you being transgendered and a game designer. :D Just threw me off a little.

Beautiful and very unique graphics. Do hope it takes off for you! (And just to add, you're also incredibly cute as well)

Thanks so much everyone :) The graphics I actually want to push even further (I've been working on some newer renders which I think will take it a few steps further). I could even go bananas and do normal mapping for all the characters (basically it lets them react to real-time lighting data)... just the entire issue of time is up in the air still (if I can't reach the funding, I'll need to go find studio work and cut down to part time on the game).

Still a couple weeks left to go though! So ~fingers crossed~ :) There aren't many trans game developers around, so, hopefully things work out.

Ohh yea, just spreading the word is a hugeee help also. Getting eyes onto the project has been pretty difficult (and kickstarter has been giving me a pretty cold shoulder as well ~_~). Still, hopefully it gets covered in some more gaming sites this week :)

Yea, it was the same way with me up until a couple weeks before the show when I had to scramble to put together a team to get a build ready. After that, it has been a struggle finding the right people to join and stay on the team ~_~

Like, right now with the campaign I'm running everything... so, trying to do press releases and updates and all sorts of other kickstarter related things.

Bloom: Memories runs off of an ISO engine? Doesn't look that way.

Actually, it is just isometric-ish... it isn't true infinite isometric (since that tends to look pretty strange). The camera is fixed, so it lets us compartmentalize the game and manage the memory limitations a lot easier.

We also have a couple tricks with how we handle the scaling of assets (the further down on the screen something is, the bigger it is...to fake a little perspective. It is only a 10 percent difference, but during the game it is enough to sell the "3d space" better).

Unfair statement... there's not a person on the planet who isn't looking for money... anyone claiming otherwise is lying.

Yea :3 Everyone needs money to do things :D I'm also open to the option of traditional investors who want to join... but, finding an angel investor is pretty hard (especially for games...and double especially for someone trans).

Crowd funding is such a great new thing though, it has helped bring forward a LOT of indie projects since it popped up.

Dani, one main question not related to the game. Why are references in the bio to you using male pronouns like "he and his"?

Oh no no, the team isn't forcing anything on me. Actually I'm the one 100 percent in charge of the project. Technically I identify as male (but it is a philosophical distinction, my definition of male includes what most people consider to be female).

I still have a long way to go in transition also (only been 2 years of hormones and an orchiectomy)....so, still want to get FFS and a variety of other things ~_~ But, well, work comes first and I've been spending my savings to try and keep the game thing going :)

Thanks :) Yea, the game is definitely more for a certain playstyle... but, there is always the added bonus of helping get more trans people into the driving seat of game development! :D

Hi & welcome, Rabbiteyes.
Nice work you've done there.
I dabble with a little scripting fot Unreal.
You should check out Rachel at Angelmapper.com.
She's done wonders with the Unreal engine for Epic and you might find some other things in common with her ;)

This place is very friendly to non working girls, I am a registered nurse and don't do porn but travel a ton for work and enjoy coming here and looking at the beautiful women and reading some of the hysterical comments posted. Everyone here has been so kind and accepting to me, so I say jump in with both feet and become a part of the community.
