kingpin had its moments, but its not really that funny. its sorta depressing. a hot chick settles for a one handed man with a beer belly who couldn't beat his nemesis and gives all his money away to an amish man that can only look out on a world he will once again never be a part of.

the movies that i most associate with quaid are independence day and caddyshack 2. his roles in the vacation movies sucked and his role in days of thunder was small and not memorable. he spoofed his vacation character in not another teen movie. other than those, i can't think of anything else he has been in of value.

My favorite Randy Quaid movie is Parents. Anyone who has never seen it should rent or stream it immediately. A bizarre, twisted, black comedy about a boy who comes to realize that his parents are cannibals. Randy Quaid plays the father. It's a great satire of late 50s/early 60s white suburbia.

Quaid had some good dramatic roles in the 70s before he became known for comedy - most notably The Last Detail, with Jack Nicholson, about a naive sailor being transported to military prison by 2 MPs. He was also in The Last Picture Show and Midnight Express.

Caddyshack 2 is one of the worst movies of all time. Ever.

Turn back the clock to 1973 and watch The Last Detail starring Jack Nicholson and Randy Quaid who was just into his 20's at the time. One of the best movies of that fantastic Hollywood decade, the 1970s. And Quaid, on his way to a navy jail for stealing from a charity box, is brilliant.
