Push-up bras are fine, they usually look great. Definitely better than implants - I prefer small and perky to big and floppy. Ultimately, do whatever makes you feel good about yourself.

My first bra was a push-up and I still wear it when I'm dressed fancier and want to show off my curves. It's actually more comfortable than any other I've worn because the cups wrap around the top of my breasts so they never get pinched when I'm running up the subway stairs. However, after a while I just felt too weird with all the padding, like if I poked myself I wouldn't even feel my flesh since it was too far underneath. It's what I imagine wearing breast forms would feel like. Honestly, most days I don't wear a bra at all, which I can get away with since I'm only a small B. I definitely feel the most comfortable that way.
