They all want tits and eventually want/need newer/bigger ones...hormones are expensive...constant need for mani's, pedi's, hair care, electrolysis, clothes, shoes, facials, peels, laser, derm abrasion, collagen...the list goes on and on...facial surgeries (reduce the brow bone, pull down the hair line or pull it back, chins, cheeks, mandible reduction, nose jobs) braces and after that, veneers...contacts, lipo certain areas and add fat to others...there's no end to it.

Yeah, all the more true when you're talking about a TS porn star. Even those of us who have highly employable skills have basically given up on ever having an employer who will employ them. Stealth is no longer possible, which means you have to have a damn understanding employer, and even one who might have been willing to tolerate a trans employee, probably won't be willing to tolerate a trans employee who is also a former sex worker, even if she can write some wickedly good javascript, or something.

It doesn't really matter how passable you are, sooner or later the employer will find out if you're trans or not just by legal stuff. Even if you never been in porn most employers will fire or not hire you on the spot and there's really nothing you can do about it. There's millions of other people without jobs with amazing qualifications, all the employers have to do is make up some other reason on why they wouldn't hire you or why you were fired so they won't have to take the chance of hiring someone different.

Trans girls have skills, almost all of them aren't given a chance in the general workforce.

Back on topic, I am quite conflicted as my choices may reflect. There is the photogenic Amy Daly and the beautiful and expressive Vo D'Balm. But in reality this is hard to say without really knowing the girls who are working in the industry personally.

I don't know about the other girls, but I always try to inject my personality into my video scenes. Well I can't speak for all of us, but certainly one of my formative experiences as a transwoman was spending three years unemployed, energetically but unsuccessfully looking for work, facing constant and persistent rejection and discrimination despite being educated, intelligent, talented, and, yes, employably skilled. That was a horrendous experience, and I think in many ways I won't really ever get over it. Certainly that sense of being completely and utterly unwanted was a big contributor to the sort of social liberation you need to go into porn and sex work: you can't exactly do this if you care what polite society thinks. I'd have to imagine there are more than a few trans porn stars out there that could write a damn good English paragraph and some elegantly efficient C code, but ultimately decided that continuing to search for employment using such skills was a waste of time and emotional energy.

Hey Lily...actually, I'm not an accountant so idk exactly what is deductible, but I do have my own business and therefore take deductions...certainly, if you buy say a pair of shoes (for example) and wear them in a paid shoot, those would be deductible...in any event, let's say you have a bunch of deductions and the IRS took a look at you...maybe they'll allow all, maybe they will disallow some...the ones they disallow, if any, the worst thing that happens is you pay some more tax.
