Copied this here as well as in the general forum.. as it is important and apolitical. Important for all Americans regardless of their political allegience. Originally posted by FrancisFKudrow.

Make Sure You Have Valid Photo ID!

If you live in Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Lousiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, South Dakota or Tennessee and want to vote this year, make sure you have current valid photo ID, as it is now required in these states. Make sure your friends and family have ID as well.

This is especially critical if you live in one of these states that could go either way in this year's election. (Let's face it, we already know how Georgia, Kansas and Tennessee will be voting)

Also, if you live in Florida, make sure you are still registered to vote. They've been purging people from the rolls for political reasons.

Pass it along.

I am surprised that there hasnt been a review and reforms of the way in which we register to vote in the UK, and how we vote in local and general elections.

As the unionists used to say in Belfast, "Vote early, vote often." :dancing:

Is that a song, marching or otherwise, RobertLouis? I was involved in three elections in London in the 1980s, that didn't involve much singing, but a lot of people dancing to a set of tunes. Never been the same since. And not just because I can't dance, and limit my singing to the bathroom...

Ummm, no. Just pretty much a matter of fact. Belfast was corrupt on a level that made Tammany Hall look like the saints themselves.

Fifty years ago they beat blacks up to stop them from voting. At least now they've become a little more subtle. Yes, that's sarcasm.

Ouch! But I am sure there is somewhere an authoritative account of the election of Bobby Sands...about which I shall say nowt...

what relevance does that have exactly Stavros? No one is here trying to whitewash the UK over Northern ireland.

The point being that the system across the UK is open to abuse, not just in other countries.

Fine - but right now, in the US, it really really matters about how the system is being abused by the GOP to try to influence the outcome of an election that is important to us all - all over the world. There are plenty of other examples of crooked elections but we really expect better from the most powerful nation in the world with "a long and proud record of democracy."

Glad you put that in parenthesis...
