Clint Eastwood auditions for king lear?

Clint Eastwood is clearly auditioning for the part of King Lear. He has endorsed Mitt Romney because the US needs "some kind of a boost." Clearly the ageing actor is so short of his marbles that he is ripe to play the old king in his dotage.
