Five things I couldn't live without...

1) Food

2) Water

3) Blood (Go ahead and try, you end up looking awfully pale...)

4) Other people (although a volleball might work)

5) My Self-important cynisism, I really can't live without this one.

A vole is a small rodent resembling a mouse but with a stouter body; a shorter, hairy tail; and smaller ears and eyes. While a vole might be attached to his balls, they shouldn't be indispensible to you LOL

Hmm, got away from Hara's point about inventions, rather than natural things (dogs, cats, kids, etc.). Five essential inventions in my life:

1. Viagra
2. Cialis

Sorry to hear that, Jdeere562. It's really hard to go through such things. Last year I nearly lost my brother-in-law to a stroke and my sister to kidney failure, and this year my mother-in-law has become a shell of herself thanks to dementia. I wish you and your sister the best.

Thanks Ecstatic. I wish you and yours the best as well. It is hard watching someone you love so much slip away. I am not really man enough to deal with this crap, at this point in life. Then again, could one ever live long enough to be able to handle the loss of loved ones?

1. My sister

*Sigh*

I know this one all too well. :( Lost my eldest sister a year and a half ago. Worse because my dysfunctionalism (Izzat a real word?) kept me out of touch with the family for more than twenty years until then. :(

Feh. :P

Perhaps I need more cats.

1. My sister
2. My sister
3. My sister
4. My sister
5. My sister

My baby sister has bone cancer, and things do not look good. Poor girl has been through hell. Started as breast cancer, then progressed from there. She is the sweetest little thing your mind could imagine. It makes one consider how cell phones, computers, etc. are not really important after all. I would trade them all, in a heartbeat, for another 40 years with her. Sorry to whine. Just putting life in perspective.

Jdeere562, my sympathies regarding what has to be a difficult time for you and your family. For what it's worth, I can identify with what you're going through. I watched cancer take my father about a decade ago. In his case, it was a melanoma that made its way into his brain. That sort of thing definitely does help you put life into perspective. For me, it was a major turning point that substantially changed the direction of my life. Best of luck to you and your family.

Thanks BeardedOne and specialk for bringing the thread back on topic.

Material things aside (Non inventions/technology) I would have these top 5:

1. My Family - Parents, brothers and sisters (no brainer).

2. My supportive friends and relatives - Who are always there for me for support in times of need. Otherwise I would have gone mad. LOL

3. Education - Knowledge is power.

4. Living life as a fulltime girl - Which are both hard, challenging and fun at the same time.

5. Life experiences - Something I can fondly look back at with a smile when Im old and gray. The challanges and obstacles Ive encountered growing up, while transitioning as a transexual etc. The fun times Ive had with interesting people Ive met, cared for, loved at one point in time and most importantly touched lives with.

Looks like HaraJuku has been doing a little thread necromancy. Good to see ya around again, sweetheart.

I can't really think of five things I couldn't live without, but here's some stuff at the top of the list:

1: Warmth (I hate being cold, and where I live, it gets pretty damn cold at times)

2: Clean sheets

3: Good socks and decent boots

4: The option to prepare my own food (I don't generally like other peoples cooking)

5: Tranquility (and not the in fruity hippy dippy sense of the word, just peace and quiet from time to time).

That's pretty much the basics.

Of course I remember. We (meaning the 90's) were on the news the other day.

"The ugliest building in downtown Minneapolis is getting a major face lift!"

Heh. Not really that major, we'll still be the ugliest building. We are knocking out most of the outside wall along Hennepin Ave., turning the area into an indoor/outdoor smoking patio. The owner's putting over $150,000 into it, so it should turn out pretty sweet.

If you come back for a visit you should stop by and check it out (major construction begins in two weeks, now that city hall has stopped fuckin with us).

Ok Felicia, that was way off the wall, but cute.
I'm thinking he meant that he thought interaction with others was something he couldn't live without, but he could put up with the balls of a vole in place of that. Since you seem to be the expert, in general, are most vole testicles well versed and easy to converse with? Fun to be around at least?

Haha. If you thought the outside of the building was pretty rough, that's nothing. Next time you're in town I'll give you the full tour of the building, show ya the basements and the long creepy tunnels.

On second thought, we should probably skip the tunnels, they really are pretty bad. I'll just buy ya drinks instead.

"My 13 year old brother." I'm come from nice parents. He was born when I was 18 yo.

"My Family in general." As much as I have wanted to disown them, in the words of Carmella "Mama" Corleone" "You can never lose your family"

"The Bible" Deny 2000 years of human wisdom if you will. Even if you think Jesus wasn't the son of God, just reading his teachings "The new testament" aka "CHRISTIANITY", will help you be a better person.

"My own life experiences". Learning, the hard way, the importance of being an honest man and never ever subjugating myself to popularity contests.

"Gods gift"........ being able to love inspite of a cynical, CYNICAL world.

"Being a man" IE appreciating femininity. Looking at a womans waist line, seeing her curves and "all of that makes me get turned on".

Nothing to feel shame for. God created attraction as much as love and desire.

"Breasts",,,,,,, God rested on the 7th day.

I almost forgot some minor issues

"Hemoglobin"

"Plasma"

"Heart cells"

1. Computer, for it's not only a source of entertainment, but it's a connection to the world as we know it, thanks to the internet. Since my want for knowledge is never satisfied, I'm always look for new stuff to learn about on the web.

2. Video games. Again, not just for entertainment, but they're also a source of inspiration for my writings.

3. My penis. Need I really say more?

4. Caffine pills. Good God, whoever invented these things should be given a Nobel Prize. These things saved my ass in high school. LONG LIVE NO-DOZE!

5. Music. While my taste in music is rather limited, the fact that it's an expression of human emotion and art...I would just find my life so empty without music.

2. Cellphone - this is the communication age as well as the information age (see #1)

3. Car - I lived without one for over 3 years and suburbia is too spread out (plus where I lived at the time the buses stopped running at 10pm :( )

4. DVD player - I could live without cable, but I like movies too much.

5. Microwave - Being single, when I cook I still make enough to feed a small army so I make little containers to heat up later for another meal.
