There have got to be either parties or something going on this weekend.
Be there sat and Sun. Let ol Ed know what's up.

For the reputation of San Francisco, you really never hear a lot about things happening there on HA. No parties or clubs other than PE and Diva's.

Overrated, perhaps?
I still love going there though...

I lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and yes, it's a bit weird, but there's not as much nightlife there as you find in other major cities. Maybe because it gets cold after dark in the summer, who knows. You also have to remember that San Francisco is less than 800,000 people, smaller than San Jose in the South Bay.

You don't go to the Opera? San Francisco has one of the best companies in the USA (the others being in New York, Chicago, Houston and so on). Mind you this weekend is an early Verdi (Attila) which may be asking a lot.
Or Yuja Wang playing Rachmaninov all weekend -she is famous for being a brilliant pianist but with -for the classical crowd -an outrageous sense of dress (youtube clip at the end of this post).

Lunch in Sausalito is a pleasant way to spend half the daylight hours, there is a Mexican place where you can sit out in the open air and eat those fajita things; even a visit to Alcatraz although its expensive.
Or you could book a table at AsiaSF where the waitresses are all ts and mostly Filipina who suddenly jump on the bar and lipsynch to some pop (presumably these days Lady Ga-Ga) they also have a bar downstairs where you can also see the waitresses come and go from their changing rooms. But if its a weekend you will need an advance booking, food is Asian fusion; and Divas is open late so if you don't strike it lucky you can always end up there.

RL golf sounds good as does what Stavros proposed.
In the end I probably will end up drinking and carousing at Diva's.

Sorry Ed, I couldn't resist. Love SF though, many happy memories of R&R there to get away from the Valley on extended business trips. One of the more civilised and enlightened of your cities.
When are you coming to London, btw?
