Talk to any Provider of content, their comments on HA seen to reflect this too.

Porn today is different from porn of the yesteryears. Times and technology has changed. People don't realize how much the internet changed porn (I don't mean illegal downloading) and the celebrity fame part of it. Several things I have noticed with porn.

1. Porn is popular, meaning that you have so many men and women trying to enter porn increases competition.

2. Viagra, the older male performers nightmare. It allowed guys who couldn't keep it up easier access into porn. Yes you could do penis injections but viagra is easier to obtain.

3. The internet porn boom. Everyone can now make their own porn site and with people charging lower fees there is too much competition in porn. So many models and too many websites results in companies getting less.
a. On-line porn is anonymity meaning that you don't have to go into a book store to buy porn and that guy who wouldn't even think about it can now watch it in the privacy of his own home.
b. Big budget porn has been hit hard by gonzo porn. Easier, cheaper and people are more inclined to hard porn, hence why playboy is failing.
c. Ease of access, I know many people think torrents are hurting porn, but its not that. Its tube sites and now major companies are running tube sites. Those really undercut their competition.
d. Webcams, why watch porn when you can intereact with your fav porn star. Its becoming an attractive medium.

4. Finally, people prefer the real thing and thanks to the new world of technology, people can sleep with their fav porn stars or popular people for a price. More people are into escorting then in the past. The average joe can now get the information.

These are some of the factors, but the ideal "porn star" is a thing of the past. Today anybody can make porn and for that reason, big companies will fail or have to change their approach.
