Marine Le Pen, the head of France's extreme right-wing National Front party, has threatened to sue U.S. pop singer Madonna for imagery in her stage show that suggests Le Pen is a Nazi.

Madonna, in her show, also displays images of homophobia that sadly shows no signs of abating:

Madonna was right to highlight the horror of Marine Le Pen

Too many French voters are being apathetic about the rise of far-right Le Pen – I'm glad Madonna has sparked a debate:

A friend of mine went to see Madge perform in the Middle East a few day ago. I wonder if she utilised those anti-islamic images there. (It would have made them all even more angry with her. She kept them waiting three and a half hours in the desert sun.)

I think it would be best for everyone concerned if this tuneless idiot retired. And that goes for Madonna as well.

For a political party that did praise people that did collaborate with the Nazi during the war. She have much to complain about.

I think we, as Americans, don't really understand the term conservative. Remember conservatism came out of classical liberalism. Noam Chomsky elucidates:

Maybe that's the case in the US, Ben. But we've had conservatism in its original sense for more than a century in the UK, ie. a preference for things the way they were and having no desire to progress.

If I may, I don't think that most Americans understand the term "socialist" either. If Obama is a socialist I must be right off the scale lol.

It has always been said that British-English and American-English are often mutually incomprehensible languages. This is seldom more evident than the use of political language

The Democrats are as Liberal as the Tories really - while the "New" Republicans are just about to the left of the BNP. As for Labour - the American right would brand it as Communist. Daft really and it makes it hard for those who're not familiar with each other's political culture to use labels with qualification.

Is there a reason why anybody (outside of the principals & their lawyers of course) should give a shit?
