Which banner is better?

I'd like opinions on these banner's please. Which one do y'all prefer or should I just start over? Thanks in advance.

If you don't much like either, I could design you a third alternative. I'm no professional, but I don't charge unless we're talking big projects. I'd need the source pics, though.

take up grimfusion offer and get a new one made ...my new banners for my new site i have just ripped off a ton of straight models sites etc and had them tweaked.. much easier .

They both look like banners made in the 90's & ugly colours, sorry if i'm rude. I'd take Grimfusion 's offer & make a new one. I can make a banner too, can make animated banners too.

No you aren't being rude you are being honest. Thank you for the specifics in your criticisms.

To be honest I was on the fence about them both that's why I asked. I didn't want to hurt anybodies feelings since they were done for me by somebody else (my graphics skills lie in other areas) at no cost but I felt they were.....lacking. I actually have PMed Grimfusion about him doing a banner but haven't heard back yet, my GF is also learning how to make them too. I will see what she comes up with as well.

I want to thank everybody for their feedback, it has been most constructive for me so far.

This is the first draft. It's updated from the image I linked you to in the last PM I sent you. The text was tweaked a bit to be a little more readable. Any changes? Anybody have any suggestions?

P.S. The more I look at the pic, the more I realize I'm going to have to completely change the font. It just looks too pixelated. That and I might tweak with the overall brightness. The draft looks a little dark to me.
