Well, I used to have weird thing for early 70's 2-stroke Suzukis. From the age of 16 through 40-ish I had in succession AP50, GT185, GT380, GT550. Clouds of blue smoke, lots of pops and crackles, but only an avg amount of go!

Vance and Hines or Rhienhart seem to work well on most HD's. In fact I think HD owns a majority share of V&H. Get rid of those stock pipes and let that scooter breath! Those Sporty's can put out some decent horsepower when mapped or carb'd correctly.

Still got a 748 in the shed! Supposed to be my track bike but with a dodgy back its just sat there last couple of years. Had an Suzuki X7 almost 30 yrs ago a smelly 2 stroker

They'll all give you about the same performance. it's all about what looks good to you. If you're doing air cleaner and exhaust then you should probably look into a fuel management system. It's the only way you'll get them to run right. Alot of times you can find a better deal if you're doing it as a package purchase. Don't pay for the labor because it's pretty easy to do. There are plenty of resources available that will teach you how to change them. Although I've never owned them, V&H Shortshots on a sportster sound vicious. A/C, the big sucker is good bang for the buck.

Kinda depends on my mood on the day but for a few years now if I had to pick a favourite from the stable it would be my Ducati Paso 750....It just does everything right and feels like it was bespoke tailored to fit me. Sometimes the ZZR1100 or the ZX10...Also really like Norton Commandos and big BMW airhead twins, both of which I've had a several of, though none at the moment....garage too full!
