There's more..Hardly a complete list either. But just showing how many other TS'es are successful in their own small businesses/crafts/countries and whatnot is inspiring to me. By putting them here, I hope others would feel "inspired" like I do.

Some of these women transitioned well. Some young, some mid age and some even around their work and gained acceptance (By the way these are all POST OP Transexuals).

It is said that there are approximately 30,000 to 40,000 post operative transsexual women live in the United States, and many thousands more are now in the process of gender transition here. These numbers are much larger than commonly assumed by the public because a veil of invisibility hides the true nature and extent of the transsexual condition. Especially hidden are large numbers of highly successful women who have fully transitioned. The reason is that most successful women live in "stealth mode" or are "woodworked". They leave their pasts behind and hide in plain sight in order to avoid social stigmatization and get on with their new lives. Their personal successes insure that they assimilate and blend right into society.

Here are more:

Good post HTgirl,

There are many stories of transexual women who have made something of themselves, which just goes to show that transgendered women don't need to be in porn or work as escorts to make a living. Many of the girls in the pics you posted are truly gorgeous as well, but they haven't had to rely on their outer beauty to succeed.

These girls have worked hard to make their dreams come true, many of them having faced opposition or prejudice and bigotry from others around them. It cannot be easy to be a TS in Iran. You rely have to admire these girls.

If I'm not mistaken, the information you posted is from :

Yes LG. Thats from the website youve attached. And as far as TS'es being successful at their careers and whatnot..Im sure "some" did rely a bit on their beauties to get there (being pretty to start with has had its advantages. LOL). Wether one worked as an "Entertainer" i.e. escort, showgirls or did porn or not..Im sure youll find out whom if you take time and read each ones bio. LOL. I just stumbled upon it today and havent gotten to read any TS lifestories i.e. TS Biographies..Oh but I will as this subject is completely very interesting to me. 8)

It is a good post surely but here on this board (i may hope so) a lot of people consider transsexual girls as normal.
But outside this board...well you know. I was in Baker NV in 2004 on sept 11 and at the local hotel The Border Inn they had a barbecue and a party with some transsexual performers. Ofcouse we came to talk with the owners of the place about this event. She told us they warned everybody in the neighborhood because some rednecks wouldn't like this. Now they know they didn't have to go there (the hotel has a casino etc and is the only place in the area where there is something to do)

Here some pictures of a girl who made it in my country..I know her very well, she is nice. She even appeared in Playboy magazine

LG you can be successful within any arena you choose even those of us who CHOOSE to do porn and escort, Im so tired of guys assuming that its "not normal" and or "not successful". I run a COMPANY where I pay taxes, have employees, make business decisions, and use my education from my Bachelors Degree everyday............Success is what you achieve in whether it be what most consider "normal" or not...................I dare anyone to tell Jenna Jameson that her success in the adult industry is any less than someone who owns a company.

Keep this positive as the purpose was.

Well this is a positive post. And was GEARED towards fellow sisters who's successfully completed their transition from male to female through surgery and got their lives going and a career in the mainstream. As Lynn Conway puts it: "In hopes that these women's stories provide hope, encouragement and role models to others, especially to those young transsexual girls-to-be who are facing gender transition".

Read attached excepts below from Lynn Conway's website:

The invisibility of these successes supports notions that gender transitions often have rather sad outcomes. At present, the media only spotlights transsexual people on two occasions, namely when "someone well-known changes sex" and when someone is a victim of discrimination, harassment or attack. Media stories about someone's "sex change" are never followed-up to find out what happened years later. Instead stories always focus on pre-transition life and struggles during transition and never on their life afterwards. This lack of balance in exposure shapes society's notion that transition leads to social marginalization or worse, because we "never hear about them again". Only stories of occasional social failures and victims of harassment and attacks remain visible longer term.

Lacking successful role models, and confronted with deliberately staged, stereotypically-prurient images of "transsexuals" from media like the Jerry Springer Show, young trans girls are often terrified to tell anyone about their condition. Constantly reminded of the violence and discrimination that trans people face, but unaware that large numbers of successful women get beyond such difficulties, many young transsexual girls can't see any way out of their awful predicament. Social stigmatization of transsexualism leads many young people to internalize a lot of undeserved shame, embarrassment and guilt about their condition. As a result, young transsexual girls often waste precious years before they seek help, and many never find a way to correct their gender condition.

Recently the veil of invisibility has been lifting, as many post-operative women all around the world have begun creating websites to help others. Some of these women are quietly "out" within the TS community. Others share their stories by being "virtually out" (VO) only via the web (while otherwise remaining woodworked or in stealth). We are very fortunate to finally be able to learn about their lives, as they become listed on webpages such as this one. Lynn hopes that more and more successful women will quietly come out, and feel comfortable sharing their stories this way via the web.

The women listed on these pages are a very diverse group. They are of many different nationalities, races and ethnicities. They come from a wide range of social classes and family backgrounds. They transitioned at many different ages. Some have been postop a long time, others transitioned more recently. Some have been "out" for many years, others are still living stealthily.

Many of these women had to suffer terrible trials in order to transition, especially those who did so years ago. Some rose from extremely humble beginnings, including living on the streets, and yet succeeded anyways. Others had easier transitions in more recent times in the more enlightened western countries. A few were even fortunate enough to have had the support of their parents when they were young. As you'll see, this webpage isn't meant to be an "honor roll" or whatever. Instead it is meant to be place where these many diverse yet representative role models can come forward and become more visible - role models who are mostly accessible via the internet for interactions and help.

The thing that makes these women "successes" isn't how far they've gone in their careers, or how much money they've made, or how pretty some of them are, or how well known some are as entertainers. Those accomplishments are very meaningful, and show that transitioning doesn't have to hold a woman back from achieving traditional social measures of success. However, the real successes we find here are ones of the heart. They are successes in living "life in the large". We see it in the happy faces, and sense it in between the lines of their stories. These are the successes of women who have survived and corrected their earlier transsexualism, and gone on to find joy and comfort and peace in their lives. <snips>
__________________________________________________ ___________

So evidently these successful post op transexual list are only and exclusively talking abouts post op TS'es whom all transcended and blend well in todays society as females and does NOT in any way discredit successes of our pre-op sisters.

I think that this is perhaps the most important post I have read on this board.

...any arena you choose even those of us who CHOOSE to do porn and escort, Im so tired of guys assuming that its "not normal" and or "not successful"...

I don't think anyone was trying to slight you, and your own reaction speaks to the fact that people wrongly assume that this is 'not normal'. You shouldn't have to defend yourself, especially here, but the fact that you feel compelled to do so suggests that from time to time people are judging you unfairly, and that my dear is total bullshit on *their* part.

Note I feel that there are more than a few people who do in fact feel that Jenna Jameson success in the adult industry is in fact less than someone who owns a more traditional company. And that is bullshit too.

Kudos to Harajuku Tgirl for busting up the traditional stereotype. I am in no way trying to judge anyone, it was refreshing to see an example of people just being people on a venue where "Does anyone have shemale creampie pics" type posts seem to be all too common.

Thank you for the post Harajuku Tgirl!!!

Wendy,

You've misunderstood my point I think.

I'm not saying that escorting and porn are bad (indeed, I have paid good money to escorts and for porn) but that it is a little sad that so many girls end up doing these simply because no other options are available.

You have made a career choice and have been successful. You are probably making more money than quite a few guys on these forums but not all girls out there working as escorts are.

I know that for a few transgendered women out there escorting seems like the only viable option. Quite a few girls probably do it for the short term, some of them simply to make enough money for operations. The business world sadly doesn't accept transexuals in the same away as it does everyone else so they resort to escorting or porn, sometimes without really wanting to. Many do not , however, and, becuase they face so much prejudice, they need to work twice as hard as anyone else to succeed.

Please note that I never used the word "normal". I avoid using it. Aedan used the word. Read the post again and all my previous posts if you like. There is no such thing as normal to me. My motto is "Fuck normal".

So okay- how about we label this topic "TS Women's Successes Outside Porn and Escorting".

was what I was referring too: I dont understand why the comment was needed and I took it as a put down of sorts if it wasnt meant that way then Im sorry however I took it differently and as far as being defensive, as long as Ive been on these boards its more nature to keep my defense up, LOL.

She even appeared in Playboy magazine

no no no you all, shes a dutch women now, kind of a celeb, and i dont thing her name angela is valid, because its kelly

I Personally think it takes a lot more courage to commit to an extensive education as a transsexual woman..

I couldnt agree more with you Dina. They deserve due respect just for making it through life transitioning.

Once again, this is another great post by you Hara Juku!!!
It's great to see and hear about transexual men and women that are sucessful in their lifes. They have overcome a lot of issues to get where they are.
I only personally know one transexual that I would consider sucessful, and by that I don't mean that she is rich monitarily, but rather by her ability to be respected in her community. She owns a dance school and it is very sucessful. She has many students both young and old. All of the parents love her and all of her older students look up to her (and thats not only because she is taller than them LOL). She even coaches some kids from other schools for competition. She is considered one of the best instructors in the area and thats saying a lot.
I know there are a lot of other sucessful transexuals out there and some of them may be right here in this fourum, but I have not met them personally yet. But maybe someday I will.

Not for anything, But Does The REAL Kelly Van DerVeer knows that you're using her pics at myspace?

These links are all the same:

And isnt this also you KellyShore on Youtube?:

So my question is WHY? Why do you constantly try to pretend to be someone you're obviously not?

Its nothing personal just alot of inquiring minds wanna know.
