Maybe I'm dense and don't seem to understand or missed something. We have a story where a group of an advance team of 11 Secret Service agents are sent to Columbia to scout out and make security preparations for Obama's impending visit. It now comes out that the Secret Service agents allegedly had prostitutes up in their rooms, perhaps some US military serviceman are also involved, and the only reason this was even divulged to American authorities is because the Columbian govt. has a policy to report to the respective embassies any time their law enforcement has an encounter with a foreigner. Clearly, you have a situation where the president and his entourage may potentially be compromized or at the very least, very poor judgement and professional behavior. End of story.
"Sources" familliar with the Secret Service claim they didn't know the women were prostitutes. Instead they were "friendly women" they met socializing after hours, who upon entering their hotel rooms demanded money to leave.
Reps. King and Issa want an investigation and the conservative pundits are blaming this breach on Obama and his administration.
Did I miss something? Law enforcement professionals that can't identify prostitutes?
It was Obama's fault for compromising his own safety and not providing the oversight for his own, highly trained, security professionals as a fault of his own administration. Therefore needs to be investigated by a Republican oversight panel to get to the bottom of this. In their opinion, if this happened, it's happened before.
WTF? Is this another case of "the black guy did it" ?
I must be missing a piece of this puzzle b/c Sunday morning political pundits are never wrong.

Just politics. Both sides do it. That sounds like a great Colombian Hooker Party though.

You know how this would be different under a republican administration?
The hookers would have been young boys.

The assholes didn't want to pay the additional guest charge that the hotel charges which was reported to be $47 so they argued with hotel and the local police were called in. Prostitution is legal in Columbia however for someone potentially dealing with security of the President it does potentially open them up to black mail opportunities. Complete stupidity.

Sometimes the street girls refuse to leave your room after you've already paid them the agreed price. They shake you down for more money and act like they will go balistic if you don't pay it. This happened to me in Rio

Pity they weren't the transexuals from Colombia you see on LiveJasmin, now THAT would have been a laugh! Don't some of those hotels make the girls show them ID before going up to the rooms, like in Thailand and then say its an extra $47 -in case they are under 21 or whatever the age thing is?

I have a TS friend from Colombia who is sometimes on LiveJasmin. As it turns out, I met her on vacation in Cartagena. It's a lot of fun there. I actually wasn't aware that prostitution is broadly legal in Colombia. But I do like the country and the people, especially the girls with or without tee.

lmao..oh you foolish dupe. Is there no topic you won't insert yourself into in defense of Obama from 5000 miles away? ...Do you read your posts and ever wonder how silly they sound? The republicans set these dudes up...right? E Howard Hunt and Liddy are up to their old tricks....lmao.This is not a partisan story (yet) the S.S. is well respected , but you making it so, says more about you and your blind inclinations than probably anything posted so far, but one thing it's not...........is a manufactured story by his political opponents. The OP placed the blame on Obama....that may or may not be accurate, but ultimately the buck stops in the Oval office..........under normal circumstances, that is....Take notes please...this is a pretty big story here as the press loves anything sexual and scandalous...who knows for how long or how systemic it is........BUT this has nothing whatsoever to do with his political opponents. Have you no shame at all? lol

Happened to me in Rio too with a take out girl from the ill fated Helpee Club. I am glad this shithole is closed for good. The girl locked both of us in the 'sex hotel' room and would not let me out of unless I paid 50% more than what I agreed upon.
I thought about kicking the crap out of her for a split second then I figured it was not worth it. Paid her the extra cash and never set a foot in the joint.

Lets start right at the beginning.
Columbia IS NOT FUCKING A COUNTRY. COLOMBIA IS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombia)
Second, Prostitution is NOT illegal in Colombia. Prostitution in Colombia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Colombia)
These guys did absolutely no wrong, and if YOU or other idiots think they did, then maybe YOU SHOULD GET STONED TO DEATH FOR HAVING A BEER.
Remember, it is illegal to drink alcoholic beverages in many Muslim countries (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_drinking_age), and in some countries the sentence for a crime is to get stoned to death.
It is the same twisted logic. The fact that it is illegal elsewhere does not make it illegal everywhere, and the fact that it is illegal in the USA does not make it illegal everywhere else, doesn't matter if they are US government employees or not.
Since when did the US law become world law?

So a couple of SS guys were availing themselves of legal services, on their own time, with their own money? Well try as I might, I can't seem to find a reason to care.

I think the reasoning behind it is that they are government employees who were visiting a foriegn country in an official capacity. If they were on vacation or something then I would agree with you completely, no wrong was done. But it's not out of the realm of rational thinking to expect there to be some accountability required for what happened. While they were down there they were basically representatives of their country in being government employees on a job, using tax payer money I'm sure for travel and lodging and what not. There are standards that are expected in such lines of work.

There are numerous possiblities. The women could have misrepresented themselves. I would assume that Secret Serviceman are well dressed, physically fit, etc. It would not be far fetched that such a man may feel that he 'got lucky', only to have it turn around to something else. Seems like the issue is really that the hotel, put on charges for having a guest. That means that having someone in your room, automatically becomes an official line item charge. If this is true, I could see even an innocent situation, or an actual business related situation, potentially causing trouble.
