You think Piers Morgan is, in American terms, a liberal? The point about where people get their news is a pertinent one, but the internet as a source varies from biased-but-reliable which means educated people can read through it; and the biased fringe whose context is often shaped by the belief that all news is a conspiracy, that everything the 'establishment' says is a cover up. Rather like people who look up their illness on the internet and are happiest with the diagnosis that suits their mood. Dangerous.

New York Times Bows to Terrorism

Speaking at the April 25 New York Times annual meeting, Arthur Sulzberger Jr., chairman of The New York Times Company, tried to justify the rejection of an ad calling attention to the alleged oppressive nature of the Islamic religion and the “vengeful, hateful and violent teachings” of Islam’s prophet. He said the ad might incite violence in the Middle East.
At the same time, he justified the placement of an anti-Catholic ad in The New York Times by saying, “We take political ads that we do not agree with. That is the nature of advocacy advertising.”
Representing Accuracy in Media, a shareholder in the company for the purpose of getting access to the annual meetings, I told Sulzberger, his executives and other Times shareholders, “You’re willing to offend the Catholics because they’re not going to come and kill you.”
The full-page, anti-Catholic ad ran on March 9 under the title “It’s time to quit the Catholic Church” and was sponsored by the Freedom From Religion Foundation. It showed a cartoon of a Catholic Bishop going berserk over a birth control pill and urged Catholics to leave the church.
The ad (http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/03/counter-jihad-offense-afdisioa-counters-new-york-times-anti-catholic-ad-with-same-only-accurate.html) against radical Islam, designed to test the paper’s commitment to fairness and freedom of expression, had a cartoon of a radical Imam upset over a smoldering Koran. It was sponsored and signed by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer of Stop Islamization of Nations and the American Freedom Defense Initiative.
Addressing moderate Muslims, the ad said in part: “In light of the ongoing, ruthless, international jihad against non-Muslims, the 1,400-year record of institutionalized oppression of women, the 18,560 Islamic attacks across the world since 9/11, and the endangering of free peoples across the world, if you’re part of the Islamic jihad, you’re part of the problem.”
Questions over the ad were just one of several headaches for Sulzberger. Several stockholders took to the floor of the annual meeting to grill him over the paper’s editorial, news and advertising policies. One individual attacked the Times for an anti-Israel bias in its news coverage. Another said the company is unaccountable and does not answer legitimate questions from the public.
Sulzberger is also under a lot of pressure because of the company’s falling stock price and financial losses.
Fr. Colin McKenna of Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown, Connecticut, reamed Sulzberger over the anti-Catholic ad, wondering whether the paper would run an ad calling Islam’s Prophet Muhammad a pedophile for having a 6-year-old girl as a child bride.
McKenna, who said he had 100 shares in company stock, and that they had lost 50 percent of their value, said the paper was needlessly offending Catholics, who might be persuaded to buy the paper if it did not have such a strident anti-Catholic bias.
Sulzberger said the only ads the paper rejects are those which are obscene or dangerous to American soldiers. He did not elaborate on that latter point or allude to the fact that the Times had rejected other ads.
“Please do not confuse the ads we run with the positions we hold as journalists,” he said.
He failed to tell McKenna that the Times had rejected the Geller/Spencer ad that was supposed to run with the title of, “It’s Time to Quit Islam.”
We informed the shareholders, “…the fact is, Mr. Chairman, that in March you rejected a similar kind of ad directed at radical Islam submitted by Pamela Geller…You didn’t tell him [McKenna] that.”
Sulzberger shot back: “What I did say was that unless there’s an obscenity or it puts our troops in danger. I did say that sir. I did not mention the ad in particular.”
Sulzberger claimed that the Geller/Spencer ad would have endangered the lives of our troops in Afghanistan, at a time when there was a controversy and violence over the burning of Korans. “And that is why we chose not to run that ad,” he said. He called it a “unique” situation.
Sulzberger added: “If we had run that ad, and one of our troops had died because of it, you’d be here calling me a troop killer.”
Sulzberger did not explain to the shareholders how an ad in the print edition of the Times could have further incited terrorists in Afghanistan to kill American soldiers.
McKenna later told AIM that he was unfamiliar with the fact that the ad was rejected. The Times, of course, did not tell its readers about the rejection.
Pamela Geller rejected the Times’ rationale, saying (http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/03/counter-jihad-offense-afdisioa-counters-new-york-times-anti-catholic-ad-with-same-only-accurate.html), “It is most disingenuous for The New York Times to refuse to run our counter-jihad ad based on their ‘concern for US troops in Afghanistan.’ Liars. Who has done more to jeopardize our troops and American citizens than the pro-jihadist New York Times? They are notorious for their treasonous reportage.”
She explained (http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/03/video-pamela-geller-in-fox-and-friends-discussing-ny-times-islamophobia.html) that the paper has “done more to jeopardize the safety of our troops than any mainstream media outlet, with the possible exception of Newsweek. How many front page stories ran on Abu Ghraib? Who leaked the NSA wiretaps under FISA, jeopardizing not just troops but American citizens, or the highly classified Pentagon order authorizing special ops to hunt for al-Qaeda in the mountains of Pakistan?”
Newsweek had run a phony story about American troops flushing a Koran down a toilet.
The rejection of the ad, Geller maintained, amounts to the paper enforcing Sharia, or Islamic law, for the radical Islamists. She added, “What is lower than using our brave men and women to cover for the Times’ cowardice and anti-freedom editorial policies?”
We told Sulzberger that his alleged concern for American lives in the Middle East was hard to believe, considering that the paper has been waging attacks on the New York City Police Department and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly for conducting surveillance of radical Muslims in order to prevent terrorist attacks.
Just three days after the annual meeting, the Times launched an attack on the FBI for trying to prevent terrorist attacks. The opinion piece (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/29/opinion/sunday/terrorist-plots-helped-along-by-the-fbi.html?_r=2&pagewanted=all) by David K. Shipler, a former Times reporter, criticized the agency for using undercover agents and informants to identify and apprehend potential Islamic terrorists.
It carried the headline, “Terrorist Plots, Hatched by the F.B.I.,” as if the FBI was to blame for Islamists expressing their desire and willingness to engage in anti-American terrorism.
Rusty Weiss, author of an AIM Center for Investigative Journalism report (http://www.aim.org/special-report/journalism-jihad-and-the-new-york-times/) on the Times campaign against the NYPD, said the attack on the FBI provides additional proof that the paper regards law enforcement as the problem, not the radical Islamists.

I don't have access to the hard copy of the Times but what I don't understand is why people are describing as an 'advertisement' what sounds to me like political propaganda -it wouldn't even be acceptable as part of an election campaign but I don't see why a newspaper runs 'ads' suggesting that any religion be abandoned. To make it worse, the descriptions of the 'ads' indicate they were dreamt up precisely to enrage and infuriate rather than persuade -it is disingenuous of a dangerous fanatic like Pamela Geller to describe her 'ad' as 'anti-Jihad' when it is anti-Muslim which is not the same thing. I also note the ridiculous assertion of "Fr. Colin McKenna of Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown, Connecticut", who according to this report, "reamed Sulzberger over the anti-Catholic ad, wondering whether the paper would run an ad calling Islam’s Prophet Muhammad a pedophile for having a 6-year-old girl as a child bride". ---6 years old??? The age of Ayesha seems to lower depending on the need to insult, it used to be 9, then it was 8, presumably it won't be long before he married her when she was a week old. There is no evidence that Ayesha was so young, the best evidence suggests she was 17 or 18 when she married, but that would not suit the purposes of Geller, anymore than it is fair to lampoon Catholic Bishops -they have enough to contend with already.

Advrts for tea and coffee, for jumpers and sandals, ok -but with Catholicism and Islam what is the ad for? Trouble-making, how pathetic. And what a waste of money!

"Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, fending off questions about whether she used her Native American heritage to advance her career, said today she enrolled herself as a minority in law school directories for nearly a decade because she hoped to meet other people with tribal roots.
“I listed myself in the directory in the hopes that it might mean that I would be invited to a luncheon, a group something that might happen with people who are like I am. Nothing like that ever happened, that was clearly not the use for it and so I stopped checking it off,” said Warren.
The Harvard Law professor argued she didn’t use her minority status to get her teaching jobs, and slammed her Republican rival U.S. Sen.Scott Brown for suggesting otherwise."

While the majority of you routinely pass out the racist label like a clown passing out candy at a parade, in hopes that it answers all your problems.... take a moment and look in the mirror. Walter Russell Mead has some strong medicine for you NY Times loving liberals. While you were dismissing Gingrich, Santorum, and Bachmann as raving racists, black and white liberals in Detroit were stealing the tax dollars of the largely minority population there.........So who's really working to undercut minority communities in urban areas? Where's the outrage ? Gingrich makes a comment regarding the loss work ethic in some minority communities because of the lack of jobs and investment, and you all go into a tailspin for weeks. It's a handy diversion, but here's what's really killing the inner cities...........this year Detriot, but previously Newark, Buffalo....(fill in the blank)

Rogue Democrats Loot Detroit As Nation Sleeps

Walter Russell Mead
http://blogs.the-american-interest.com/wrm/files/2012/05/detroit-top.jpg
Few readers will be surprised to learn that decades of incompetence and entrenched corruption in Detroit’s government have not only helped wreck the city; firms linked to former Democratic mayorKwame Kilpatrick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwame_Kilpatrick) also looted the pension fund (http://www.freep.com/article/20120504/NEWS01/120504067/Detroit-pension-fund-shady-deal-Jeffrey-Beasley?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE).
The latest scandal, which leaves even hardened observers of the abysmal Democratic machine that has run the city into the ground bemused, involves a real estate firm which gave the felonious mayor massages, golf outings, trips in chartered jets and other perks as this enemy of the people went about his hypocritical business of pretending to care about the poor while robbing them blind. The firm, apparently run by a sleazy low class crook named by the reprehensible Kilpatrick to be the Treasurer of what was left of Detroit’s finances, used Detroit pension funds to buy a couple of California strip malls. Title to the properties was never transferred to the pension funds, and they seem to be out $3.1 million.
Kilpatrick’s partner in slime is his ex-college frat brother Jeffrey Beasley, who is accused of taking bribes and kickbacks as he made bad investments that cost pension funds $84 million. Overall, a Detroit Free Press investigation estimates that corrupt and incompetent trustees appointed by Democratic officials over many years in Detroit are responsible for almost half a billion dollars in investments gone wrong.
I honestly don’t know why there is so little national outrage about this despicable crew and the terrible damage they have done. The ultimate victims of the crime are Detroit’s poor and the middle class and lower middle class, mostly African-American municipal workers who may face serious financial losses in old age.
The 41 year old Kwame Kilpatrick may well be the worst and most destructive American of his generation; his two terms as Mayor of Detroit are among the most sordid and stomach churning episodes in the storied history of American municipal corruption. Now under federal indictment for, essentially, running Detroit City Hall as a criminal enterprise, Kilpatrick reportedly turned down a plea bargain that included a 15 year prison term. Insiders say that since the maximum time for the charges he faces was 18 years, the offer from the prosecutors indicates strong confidence in their case. Indicted with him was his father; it’s nice to think that father and son will have some quality time in the can.
We must all hope for mercy in this world and the next and VM doesn’t exactly wish the worst on these people, but if between the civil penalties, fines and lawsuits from those they have wronged Kilpatrick and company are picked so clean that they have to depend on their prison earnings for snack money in jail, helping them out won’t be at the top of our charitable giving list. And one thing Michigan legislators should check is whether the state has a nice harsh pension forfeiture law.
These judgments are always subjective, but it seems to me that there is not nearly enough national publicity about and outrage over the crimes of Kwame Kilpatrick. If a white or Asian Republican pol had looted fire and police pension funds, blighted the lives of a generation of minority kids and helped do more damage to a great American city than Hurricane Katrina, I don’t think this would be primarily a local news story. I would expect that the scandal would grip the nation, and there would be wall to wall national media coverage.
As there should be.
As it is, an eerie silence envelopes the subject. Outside the Michigan area, only the most dedicated news hounds and political junkies follow this story.
Three factors seem to be at work. One is quite simply financial; falling newsroom budgets in the MSM mean that it is harder for national papers and legacy networks to cover the country.
The second factor is more disturbing: there is a pervasive national sense of ennui and despair about urban areas in which African Americans are the majority. ‘We’ expect decline, decay and corruption in these places, so the Kilpatrick story strikes many editors and journalists as just another ‘dog bites man’ story: not news. Cory Booker is news; Kwame Kilpatrick isn’t.
That ennui and despair intensify when the subject is Detroit. Frankly, while the genteel world hates the thought of being racist, in reality there is a widespread belief in even the most liberal and well educated portions of the white upper middle class that nothing much better can happen in Detroit. I don’t believe that, and this is one of the reasons the city’s decline makes me angry as well as sad. Lax law enforcement and oversight from federal and state authorities allowed a climate of unrestrained corruption to grow up in Detroit over many years.
Putting a lot more people in jail much earlier in their careers, and instilling a healthy fear of the law in Detroit’s political class would have slowed the decline at least, and might well have created openings for better politicians to emerge. The failure of Detroit’s political class must also be seen as a dramatic failure of national and state law enforcement. The horses had been out of this stable for a long time before the authorities showed up with padlocks in hand. One hopes that the Department of Justice will move aggressively to target big city machines for investigation before more Detroits pop up. Similarly, state governors might want to suggest to their attorneys general that corruption bears watching. Michigan taxpayers are going to be stuck with huge bills as the state struggles to cope with the consequences of misrule in Detroit; smart governors might not want to wait until their cities collapse.
Finally, there is a disconnect between important local news and our national news culture today. The New York Times does a lousy job covering New York city and New York State; in the rarefied world of Times readers, local news is dull. Many of our national news editors and writers see themselves as cosmopolitan citizens of the world, interested in much more exciting and important things than the grubby realities of local and municipal life.
In this, the journalists faithfully reflect the thinking of many members of the genteel upper middle class; it is a kind of weird Platonic vision of reality in which the ‘lower’, grubby levels of politics and national life count for less than the ‘higher’, ‘nobler’ levels. Call it the gentrification of news; before Ivy Leaguers filled the newsrooms, American papers focused on the nuts and bolts of life. Now, they are much too highfalutin and hoity-toity for crime and city hall reporters to be the cocks of the walk.
Thus, even as interest in and reporting on the economic and social meltdown of so many once prosperous American cities and states ebbs, the ‘aristocracy’ of the press corps intensifies its endless and endlessly overdone coverage of the national election cycle. Very little that is said or done in either the Romney or Obama campaigns right now has much to do with what voters will be thinking about and voting on six months from now. But that doesn’t stop the legacy press from obsessing about it while ignoring far more consequential developments taking place on every side.
Detroit doesn’t matter all that much to the New York Times and many of its readers for the same reasons that Albany, Queens, Buffalo and Schenectady don’t matter. The new American elite wants to live and think as if it has transcended all that dreary provincial mess and lives on high in a world of Big Ideas and Global Issues. Mrs. Jellyby is much more interested in visionary programs to uplift the inhabitants of Borrio-Boola-Gha than on making sure her own children are well dressed and well cared for.
(At the American Interest we are trying to change this pattern. Go here to read a review (http://www.the-american-interest.com/article.cfm?piece=1236) of some recent books on Detroit by John G. Rodwan that appears in our May/June print issue.)
There is something profoundly wrong with an American political culture that accepts chronic misgovernment in major cities as OK. It is not OK; the people who do these things may call themselves liberal Democrats and wear the mantle of defenders of the poor, but over and over their actions place them among the most cold blooded enemies and oppressors of the weak.
American cities have been festering pits of graft and bad governance since at least the early 19th century, but there is a difference between the “honest graft” of Tammany Hall and the nihilistic destruction practiced by some of today’s urban machines. Today’s situation, in which some city machines are so dysfunctional that the parasite is literally killing the host (and not just in Detroit), is new and, again, the most vulnerable in our society suffer the worst consequences. Minority children are the greatest ultimate victims of this loathsome corruption: they attend horrible schools and grow up in decaying, unsafe urban landscapes where there is no growth, no jobs and no opportunity for the young.
How is it anything but racist not to care about that — and not to burn with the desire to put the scabrous thugs who misgovern our cities and waste our social funds in prison where they belong?

Interesting - I don't recall dismissing Santorum, Bachmann and the rest as racists. I certainly consider their form of ignorance and regressive reaction to be dangerous.

I do like the New York Times it is one of the remaining bastions of good journalism in the US. It tries to be balanced - unlike the Fox News that is so beloved of conservatives like you OMK. You throw up a great cloud of accusations against what you brand the "liberal" media, but look at your own beloved network. it is full of lies and distortions.

I brand as racist people who resort to ignorant labelling of people from minorities as criminals, as lesser citizens or in some way inferior to the white majority. There has been plenty of that here. I am not sure if you have stooped that that low (others will correct me if I am wrong in giving you the benefit of the doubt here) - but plenty of others have. I brand as racists those who hate Muslims or Jews or Mormons or Catholics or any other religious creed because of their religion and foment hatred or discrimination or prejudice against them. I brand as ignorant those who see the actions of a tiny minority as representative of a whole race, or faith. On that i find you culpable with your anti-Islamic sentiments.

I do not condone bad behaviour by administrations of the right or the left - conservative or liberal, black of white, etc etc.... My default position is a belief in fair play, in justice, in equal rights for all, in adherance to the law and non interference by vast vested interests (like the Koch brothers),in a media that attempts to report and cover news and issues honesty and fairly (which the NYTimes does and Fox does not.)

I assume because it is - in our view - a liberal rag you did not read the item i posted earlier.

You work so hard to stereotype and revile thinking people who do not share you view don't you OMK. And yet when asked to provide substantial material on the so called left wing conspiracy you bleat about, you never do. When you label the Obama administration Hard left I truly wonder if you have any idea what the Hard Left really is!) When asked to provide proof of your vicious and baseless allegations that i am an anti-semite you refuse to because you know your claim is a lie and there is no evidence.

OMK you are - essentially - a right wing buffoon, a swaggering bully and for all your aptitude in hurling insults not worth taking seriously..

Hey...Let's breath some life back into this thread. I miss it...Weren't we talking about Fix News ?

Fox's Bill O'Reilly's gone after NYT's young media star Brian Stelter before. This time O'Reilly gets a rare NYT correction after sending up Stelter Thursday night on The O'Reilly Factor. Quoting Stelter's Wednesday piece (http://chickaboomer.blogspot.com/2012/05/poof-time-neutralizes-outrage-over-gay.html): "Mr. O'Reilly and one of his guests com-plainnned last fall when Chaz Bono became the first openly transgendered . . ." (blah blah blah) "Well, it's not true. Once again Mr. Stelter writes a falsehood in order to demonize me and Fox News. . . . Because of my position [on gay marriage] liberal guys like Stelter in the New York Times want to hurt me."

What's a little truth shading and outright fabrication when the ends justify the means ? Nicely Done NY Times. Again.

Yeah, yeah, I get it, one more reason to vote for Romney this fall........

You start saving your pennies, OMK, I might let you bid on my Authentic Authenticated pair of Bill O'Reilly's soiled underwear, #32of50. Make a bid before I put it on eBay.

It's not so much about O'reilly as it is about the NY Times....ya know..."All The News That's Fit To Print" but your head is so far up your ass....you wouldn't understand that point.

BTW....got anything interesting to say about media malfeasance? I keep coming back to that De niro line in Taxi Driver..........

Lowest Common Denominator

In relation to people, they are the simplest group in a population. They have the simplest opinions, the simplest views and the simplest lifestyles. They are the unsophisticated (which is not correlated to the amount of happiness they have - in fact, living a simple life may make you even more happy than living a sophisticated one). Because these people do not think as much as a sophisticated person, they tend to be more naive and more gullible to gut feelings, and the ingrained culture and social laws that are around them. Their trust is easily earned.

In terms of politics, this can be taken advantage of when politicians use their persona and the gut feelings of their audience to gain followers, even when their policies and views might be to their disadvantage.

Those GOP candidates like to target the lowest common denominators in each state because it's easy followers for them.

So do people like OMK really rely on Fox for their knowledge of events in the world? I mean this guy has a brain and surely can see that the plurality of coverage - both domestic and international - offered by the New York Times or the Washington Post or NPR or PBS's nightly news programme (Lehrer McNeill?) offers a far wider view of the world that the narrow cast coverage offered by Fox (leaving aside the issue of its political bias). To truly get a wide picture of the complex issues and elements that enable you to form any coherent view of what is going on around the world, you need a plurality of sources. I'd no more just watch Sky news in the UK (a model of political balance compared to Fox) than I would rely solely on the BBC. If you want to be informed you have to dig and read and watch and listen to lots of stuff. I even listened to an hour of G Gordon Liddy (the old watergate crook) who is now a right wing broadcaster the other day. Mean spirited and utterly unobjective. it was a self satisfied chat with the author of a book called The Death of Liberalism. In the manner of OMK's contributions here is as - in essence - a splutter of insults and self congratulatory chat from the interviewer and interviewee.

This degraded form on non-journalism reveals a sorry side to the discourse underway now. Facts matter not a jot when ignorant and self satisfied prejudice hold sway.

Yawn....another day another MSNBC guest or anchor making wild race baiting theories as a substitute for anything of substance. This time it was even too much for left leaning Politico, and they threw a brotha under the bus. And oh yea...he was an editor at the Boston Globe...another rag . Last week it was Trish's favorite "journalist" Andrea Mitchell editing a clip to convey something other than what Romney said. Ms Mitchell's and NBC's behavior prompted a former news person to say "thank you for turning a once noble profession into a laughing stock".....and the rich irony is you all watch this garbage, swallow it whole and think you're well informed. November can't come soon enough.

http://www.globalpost.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/gp3_small_article/joewilliams_220612.jpg (http://www.globalpost.com/photo/5709069/joewilliams-220612) Joe Williams has been suspended from Politico over his racially motivated comments on MSNBC about Mitt Romney. (Screengrab/YouTube)

Joe Williams, a Politico reporter, was suspended late Thursday for making racially charged comments about Republican candidate Mitt Romney, the political news website reported (http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/06/politico-reporter-suspended-for-comments-126989.html).
"Romney is very, very comfortable, it seems, with people who are like him," Williams said during an appearance on MSNBC. "That's one of the reasons why he seems so stiff and awkward in town hall meetings, why he can't relate to people other than that. But when he comes on Fox and Friends, they're like him. They're white folks who are very much relaxed in their own company."
Williams has also made critical comments about Romney on his private Twitter account, the New York Times reported (http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/22/politico-suspends-reporter-over-romney-comments/). The reporter, who is black, was the Boston Globe's deputy Washington bureau chief before moving over to Politico, Slate reported (http://slatest.slate.com/posts/2012/06/22/joe_williams_suspended_over_white_folks_remark_on_ msnbc_.html?from=rss/&wpisrc=newsletter_slatest).
According to his Politico bio (http://www.politico.com/staffmembers/JosephWilliams.html), he covered the Obama administration cabinet and domestic policies, and also "examines the intersection of race and politics."
The clip of Williams' MSNBC appearance quickly made the rounds of conservative blogs and news websites such as Breitbart.com (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/06/21/Politico-reporter-obama-comfortable-white-folks) and The Washington Free Beacon (http://freebeacon.com/politico-reporter-romney-only-comfortable-around-white-folks/).
"Regrettably, an unacceptable number of Joe Williams's public statements on cable and Twitter have called into question his commitment to this responsibility," Politico's founding editors John Harris and Jim VandeHei wrote in a memo to the staff. "His comment about Governor Romney earlier today on MSNBC fell short of our standards for fairness and judgment in an especially unfortunate way."

the difference is that Fox News spends most of the evening hours shamelessly shilling for the Republican party. They make no effort to have a nuanced or fair debate of the issues and frequently misrepresent the facts on their shows. I know plenty of Republicans who are not of the die hard variety who are willing to admit that there are news stations with a liberal bias, but they have not made themselves a veritable propaganda arm for a political party as Fox has.

You don't seem quite as misinformed with respect to what the Main Stream News Media is....as opposed to what it should be , as most of the other Libs on here, so let me walk you through this slowly. The evening shows on Fox are OPINION shows. No different than the editorial pages of the NY Times. Hannity tells you right up front he's a conservative, and O'reilly consistently explains he's a commentator coming from things from a more traditional point of view. Gretta is a Democrat ( huge Hillary supporter) and married to a big time Dem fundraiser and attorney) Shep Smith is a liberal to moderate, but a striaght news anchor. So where's all the shilling?

Contrast that with the laughable pretense of the mid day shows of MSNBC and CNN where they attempt to pass them off as "journalists". Matthews and Mitchell and Tamron Hall . Soledad O' Brienand Wolf Blitzer are so in the tank for Obama it's really entertaining to watch as they attempt to pass themselves off as impartial. They make that distinction...not me. Watch any show on either of those 2 networks and tell me if they're "journalists" who play it straight down the middle. I'll step out here and you can prove me wrong....With the hiring of Jessie Jackson's daughter, Fox has more regular left wing contributors and commentators than the other 2 networks combined have conservatives.( Hell... MSNBC fired Pat Buchanan the only opposing viewpoint because they didn't like what he said in his book. Still think they don't have an agenda.........it's a fucking book for christ sakes!!!! ) . But then again Fox has more than 3 times the viewers, of the others so maybe that's only fair they have 3 times the liberals. lol

Please don't confuse Hannity , an opinion guy who you have every right to despise, but who tells you up front he's bias, with Mitchell, Blitzer , Soledad O'brien and Matthews and all the others who still try to shamelessly play themselves off as "correspondents". The only one's they're fooling are themselves. Understand? Check out the link below to help you better clarify what I'm saying. And in case you're not aware....mediaite is a left leaning site.

I think you've been fed the left wing media bias bilge from pukes like Dan Rather and Brian Williams for so long you really can't distinguish balance...but it's not your fault, and you're certainly not alone.
