Rush is another mouth-that-roared who's bottom line is controlled by sponsors. Once he saw his money was leaving, Limbaugh played nice like a good little deaf boy.
Limbaugh NEVER apologizes.lol

Yea...I guess he's not near the tough guy Roland Martin was. Oh wait.....that's right....he caved too. Allright then there's big blow hard Ed Shultz who actually used the same term, but he held strong too.....right? LMAO
These tantrums to get people to apologize are pathetic no matter if it's Roland Martin or The Big Voice on the Right.
This is part of Limbaugh's statement that you won't be seeing on your eventing news...
I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

Surely the point is that Rush Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the Republican Party in the USA. He is the voice of the Republican Party, he sets the tone and the content of his party's debate, and he is the one who excuses the men in suits from saying in public what the Republican in the street wants to say, by giving voice to it through the freedom of his notorious shows: that Republicans believe sexual behaviour is a core issue, because it is part of that whole 'decline of America' that was caused by civil rights, the liberation of women, and rights for homosexuals that is part of the 1960s, the decade Republicans hate more than any other, even though it was the Republican Party that ensured the passage of civil rights legislation through Congress. And, behind this indignation at the rights that diverse people have, is a view of Christianity as the only religion that matters in the USA, and a religion whose values, as defined by Mr Limbaugh, must shape the lives of every American. That millions of Americans are Buddhist -the second largest religion in the USA- is apparently of no importance at all.
Rush Limbaugh and his attack on a college student tells you all you need to know about the mentality of the Republican Party. Even from this distance, it stinks.

You have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. From nearly the first sentence to the last, you're ignorance of that which you speak comes blasting through like sun through the bedroom window on a July morning. There's so many misconceptions, fallacies, regurgitated nonsense, and left wing talking points, I find it wasteful to even contradict them. It's easier just to put you in the "blow hard" category, and dismiss you. I read your posts sometimes and wonder how can someone as you put it "from a distance" be such a know it all on the American Political scene, and specifically the internal working of the Republican and Conservative movements. You can't feel it, you can't touch it, you're not part of it, you can't live it....you haven't fought the fights...all you can do is read about it from a proven bias BBC, and a left wing US media who long ago shed any journalist credibility. And that's enough for you to feel qualified to make incredibly asinine and false statements. You bloviate on matters you know absolutely nothing about, yet the ill informed cheer you as a sage. I guess you're judged by the company you keep ! lol Let's just take one of your wild assertions...That "That millions of Americans are Buddhist -the second largest religion in the USA"
Where you came up with that is beyond me. You may have pulled it out of your ass....or is it arse where you hail from? According to the US Census Bureau, and Gallup polling, Buddhists rank right below Atheists far behind Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Jevoha Witnesses, Methodists, Southern Baptists, Presbyterians, Mormons, Episcopal's, etc. They are .05% of the US population.
You sir are a counterfeiter and a fraud and misrepresent the facts. You are entitled to your opinions....hardly your facts. But fear not....your chronic falsehoods would guarantee you employment here in the US with MSNBC or any number of media outlets that mirror your ideology, so you have a future. And speaking of religion...what would you really know about that? Religion and faith is a part of 75% of Americans lives. I'd dare say it's barely 20 in the UK.
Rush had to apologize, your penance for gross misrepresentation should be to read this short article on the matter, and hopefully become more literate on US politics.

Ms. Powers, A liberal by the way, chronicles the left's hypocrisy rather nicely. It's something I comment on continuously, but you seem to be blissful in your ignorance.
Still the point remains that we, despite the intentions of our founders, are often an intolerant and tyrannical majority.
It certainly isn't fair for the many to control the few. Nor is it fair for the few to control the many. So, what is the solution???

Funny that you bring Roland into play given the fact that his comment was vague in comparisons to Rush who outright attacked a single person. He called her slut yet he knows absolutely NOTHING about her sex life. Yet this is same guy that was pill popper at one point.

You have no idea what the fuck you're talking about...
Thank you for telling me what it is that I do not know, though oddly I don't feel I have discovered anything new about myself from your hysterical post.
I am never going to feel the nuances of the political debate in the US from this distance, but as I told BluegrassCat I made a simple mistake about Buddhism -it isn't particuarly significant, I don't fact check everything -neither do you in many of your ill-informed posts.
You have avoided the core issue that I raised: that Rush Limbaugh speaks for the otherwise 'silent majority' of Republican voters who think that the the 1960s -civil rights, women's rights, gay rights and minority rights, and what Charles Murray has called the 'disaster' of social welfare - was the decade which developed the curse with which Americans now live, and which has eroded the values of their United States.
Rush Limbaugh didn't need to meet or know much about Ms Fluke to call her a 'slut' and a 'prostitute' because anyone in his view who takes advantage of whatever family planning servces are legally available to his fellow Americans is part of the curse. An apology from him is fatuous.
You need to admit that your leader is simultaneously ill-equipped for the role, intellectually, yet cruelly accurate in his reflection of how millions of Americans think. The view from this distance is that the USA is engaged in a vicious conflict over the legacy of the 1960s, it can hardly be called a debate. How you deal with it is your problem; I am available as an independent adjudicator, being a lover of freedom for all, wherever they live
And please don't make assumptions about what it is that I do or not believe in, that is not for your careless indulgence.

Limbaugh isn't on fire. That's just his pants.
The "ditto-heads" know that he lies with every breath he takes, but they don't care. That speaks volumes about his audience. Almost as much as the fact that they claim not to understand why nobody else has any respect for him or them.

Limbo advertisers run for cover -
'As the controversy grew over Rush Limbaugh's latest incendiary comments -- he called law student and birth control advocate Sandra Fluke a "slut" on Wednesday -- his show's advertisers began to flee in droves (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/03/%3Cbr%20/%3Ehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/02/rush-limbaugh-sleep-train-sandra-fluke-slut_n_1315900.html?ref=mostpopular). The Associated Press reported on Sunday that seven companies (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/04/proflowers-rush-limbaugh-sponsor-pulls-out_n_1319744.html) have backed away from the show.'

This is where I actually give Rush the benefit of the doubt. He had to know how birth control pills work - take 30 a month whether you have sex once or a hundred times. I assume he was playing dumb because most of his audience is pretty dumb and the ones who are smarter eat up that low base humor. So no, Limbaugh can't be so stupid he doesn't know how the pill works.

I've already established you're the most gullible dupe on here who hasn't a clue how the advertising business works ( or any other unless it's supported by taxpayer dollars) . Here's the deal....He's on over 600 stations. Each local station has dozens of local advertisers from Patty's Pizza to the local gun shop. Between the local, and national advertisers he's estimated to have over 1800. So, if the pinheads at Think Progress are right, and they're not....45 is such an infinitesimally small amount...it's not even noteworthy. In fact, he's turned some national sponsors away over the past several days....but you keep on cheerleading in that dimly lit basement apartment , sitting in your underwear reading Think Progress and hoping Limbaugh fails. Now about that wager, Einstein.....if he's still on the air in 2 weeks, you take a much needed 60 day hiatus from HA to bone up on how capitalism works....if he's off the air........I'll take the 60 days. Come on smart guy...don't get all weak on me now....unless of course you're starting to doubt Think Progress....LMFAO

Imagine this.....so desperate for advertisers, he's turning them away. You dupes are so entertaining, I can't thank you enough !
Rush Limbaugh has rejected an advertiser’s apparent attempt to reunite with his show after the company initially dropped its ads from the program following his remarks about contraception advocate Sandra Fluke.
The company, Sleep Train, calls itself (http://www.sleeptrain.com/press-kit.aspx) “the No. 1 Bedding Specialist on the West Coast, and most recognized mattress retailer in the region.”
In an email to Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen (obtained by The Blaze), a representative of the show says that Limbaugh personally considered the company’s request, but denied it considering its public comments following the controversy.
“Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show,” the email begins. “Rush received your requests personally.”
“Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh’s character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.
“Rush appreciates your long friendship and your past support, and we wish you good luck in the future.”
Last Friday, Sleep Train was vocal in its rejection of Limbaugh.
“As a diverse company, Sleep Train does not condone such negative comments directed toward any person,” the company said in a statement (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/post/sleep-train-currently-bags-limbaugh-after-long-run/2012/03/02/gIQAWlAZnR_blog.html). “We have currently pulled our ads with Rush Limbaugh.”
According to the Washington Post, which tells the story (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/erik-wemple/post/sleep-train-currently-bags-limbaugh-after-long-run/2012/03/02/gIQAWlAZnR_blog.html) of how the advertiser and Limbaugh started their relationship, Sleep Train had been an advertiser with Limbaugh for over 25 years. Last week, the Post noted how the company had only suspended its ads, not fully dropped the conservative commentator as a retail spokesperson. And while that may have left the door open for a reunion, that has now been rejected by Limbaugh.
“It’s a business decision, and it’s theirs alone to make,” Limbaugh said Monday (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/rush-limbaugh-explains-why-he-apologized-in-fighting-them-i-became-like-them/) morning regarding companies who had pulled ads. “They‘ve decided that they don’t want you anymore or your business.” On Wednesday, he also noted (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/everythings-cool-limbaugh-says-media-reports-about-his-advertisers-are-misleading/) the media was misleading the public about the number of advertisers who had dropped the show.
“We’ll replace them,” he assured his audience.

All right. So if Limbaugh has lost 45 or more sponsors I win and if it's been less than that you win. Since as you said, 45 is patently false, if you have an ounce of courage (but who are we kidding, it's you!) you'll accept.
Now, unlike you I have no interest in silencing people and debate. As we both know the truth has a better opportunity to flourish in an open debate, which is precisely why you oppose letting people speak. If (and when) I win you have to refrain from character assassination and changing the subject for 60 days. Of course I doubt you can go one post without doing that and if you're as faithless to this bet as you are to the truth, I won't hold my breath waiting for you debate in a civil manner.
So those are the terms. Can you back up your "patently false" 45 sponsor claim with action?

No twink.....I make the bets. I'm the book, you're the degenerate gambler in his under wear. The wager was.....If Limbaugh is still on the air in 2 weeks...you leave HA for 60 days. Don't be a squirrel and change the terms.
You're really not very smart are you? I explained why the 45 sponsor figure was bogus. Nearly all of them are in local markets, and many of them purchase advertising through agencies not really knowing when their spots will be aired. They may be on Limbaugh on Tuesday, and on Hannity the next...different times, different venues. Your reliable sources at Think Progress are counting advertisers that claimed they pulled their spots on Limbaugh, when in fact many of them weren't even on that ad cycle. It's complicate for an airhead like you, but really weather it's 45 or 455 it's irrelevant . Limbaugh will replace all the sponsors, in fact did you see carbonites stock price since pulling...it's down over 8% LMFAO. Your point about sponsors pulling their ads was because you were wetting your pants hoping they'd all flee, and he'd be left with no advertisers....and forced to cancel his show, so don't bore me with your dopey first amendment nonsence. You're a liberal...you want to stifle debate when you don't agree with it. That's what you were hoping for...so why not just admit it? That's why I made the original wager.....that's why you're a weasel.

So according to you the 45 number is "bogus" and "patently false" so you accept the terms I've laid out then? 45 or more I win and under 45 you win?

Not all advertisers are create equal.
Limbaugh is a multi-millionaire because of his major national advertisers, not the mom and pop local businesses who buy time on his show.
When the fat man loses a $2-10 mil per year ad buy, you can bet it hurts.
Those major ad buys aren't easily replaced.
This time Limbaugh's big mouth bit him in the ass and gave himself rabies.lol
No he won't be off the air anytime soon or wake up poor, but eventually he could be dropped from stations which will mute the powerful influence he has in so many red states.
Rush is in it at this point for the stature and political juice, losing stations is going to kill that which I predict is going to happen.

You may be right GH, but I wouldn't count him out. For 23 years they've been trying to run his big ass off. Here's a contrary view to yours..
Since the market opened on Monday through its close today, Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points. It was also one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ on Tuesday.
This boycott may actually end up HELPING Rush because what’s going on with Carbonite is giving people the idea that Rush’s show can have a massive impact, both positive and negative, on the price of a company’s stock. Now that would be ironic…
Sorry Blue Grass Buffoon...he's not going anywhere! lmao

Your 45 sponser number is pulled right from Media Matters, by way of Politico.....and is patently false...
OMK continues to claim that the 45 (now 50) number of sponsors fleeing the Limbaugh Hindenberg is "patently false" and "bogus." But when it comes time to back up his words with action, he goes AWOL.
So which is it? Do you stand by your own statements and accept the bet like a man? Or do you backtrack and admit that you were full of shit in your defense of Rush as usual?
I bet you choose option C: change the subject, hurl a few insults and retreat to the warm comforting glow of Fox News to get your next batch of talking points.

What the hell are you in 5th grade? I proposed the bet.....you didn't take the bet, which is your choice....but then countered with a different wager.....LMAO....What are we on the playground?? LMAO...I explained the difference between advertisers to you, but you still don't get it. Do you think I'd actually take the word of one of your left wing web sites as fact? You really are hopeless and naive. You not only lack originality, you're foolish. The bet was Limbaugh would still be on the air in 2 weeks ( it's one week now) that's easily proveable, but rather than take that bet, you pulled a piker move shootin' your mouth off about a wager like it was your idea. LMAO...what a simpleton.

Rush is still rich enough to work for a tenth of his normal compensation and wait this dry spell out for at least a year.
He still gets ratings and always will.
Money AND ratings still talk loudest and Rush Limbaugh is fluent in three languages.

Try to spin all you want boy, it's clear you won't stand behind your own words. You tried to invent a bet on which there was no disagreement. Find me the post where I said Limbaugh would be off the air. You can't because I didn't. I did say he had lost 45 sponsors which you said was "patently false" and "bogus." So I challenged you to back up your bullshit claims with action and like always, you rushed to change the subject and muddy the waters.
Limbaugh has now lost at least 98 sponsors. Your attack-the-messenger brand of debate is pathetic. A 4th grader can come up a better retort. You lose your shirt everytime you step into the political section and it's hilarious to watch.
So the bet offer still stands: do you actually believe and stand behind what you write here or do even you know it's just bs talking points?
